Firstly, you yourselves are ignorant and separated, and are being taught. Having heard them widely scolding, at that time the monks requested the Bhagavan, and the Bhagavan thought, 'What the householders say is true.' As before, the training to not go to other houses in a squatting posture was established. The place is the place of the Shakyas (Kapilavastu). The persons are the six groups. The affliction is that it is not in accordance with the Dharma. The fault is going to other houses in a squatting posture. Therefore, one should not walk in a squatting posture, and one should learn to go to other houses with great care. Here, the establishment of the actual downfall is that if one does not learn in that way in the actual situation, it will become the actual basis of an act of wrongdoing that needs to be confessed. The agent here is walking in a squatting posture, and the other house itself. Here, the branch is one, which is the actual accomplishment itself. Regarding the combination and the accomplishment of the combination of combinations themselves, if appropriate, it will also be condemned, which is the same as before. The twenty-third training is complete. The basis for the training to not go to other houses with the soles of the feet is: The Buddha Bhagavan was staying in the Nyagrodha Grove in the place of the Shakyas (Kapilavastu). The six groups were going to other houses with the soles of their feet, and when they were seen by Brahmins and faithful householders, they scolded them, saying: 'These noble ones are playing like small children, and those with injured soles are also playing like this, which is not in accordance with the Dharma, do not walk like this.' They said: 'Wise ones, there is a need for this.' Noble ones, what is the need? Firstly, you yourselves are ignorant and separated, and are being taught. Having heard them widely scolding, at that time the monks requested the Bhagavan, and the Bhagavan thought, 'What the householders say is true.' As before, the training to not go to other houses with the soles of the feet was established. The place is the place of the Shakyas (Kapilavastu). The persons are the six groups.

Therefore, the so-called "not walking with the soles of the feet" means lifting the heels and not walking with the soles of the toes touching the ground. Therefore, one should be strictly restrained and taught to do so when going to other people's homes. Here, determining the root downfall means that in the actual situation, if one does not act according to this teaching, it will become the root of an evil deed that should be confessed. The actors here are walking with the soles of the feet and going to other people's homes. There is one branch here, namely the actual completion. Regarding the combination and the completion of the combination of combinations, blame is also given as before, according to the circumstances. This is the twenty-fourth precept. The basis for teaching not to lean on the waist when going to other people's homes is: The Buddha Bhagavan was residing in the Nyagrodha Garden in Kapilavastu (6th-5th century BC). The group of six monks were leaning on their waists with both hands and going to other people's homes. Brahmins and faithful patrons saw this and scolded them. Venerables, wealthy people, merchants, and leaders, doing this is not in accordance with the rules, do not walk like this. They said: Wise ones, there is a need for this. Venerables, what is the need? First of all, you yourselves are ignorant and uneducated. Having heard their extensive scolding, at that time the monks reported to the Bhagavan, and the Bhagavan also scolded them after seeing them. Venerables, wealthy people, and so on. Therefore, the precept of teaching not to lean on the waist when going to other people's homes was established. The location is Kapilavastu, the people are the group of six monks, the affliction is not being in accordance with the rules, and the fault is leaning on the waist with both hands and going to other people's homes. The so-called "not leaning on the waist" means that it is not allowed to walk with both hands resting on the sides of the waist and bending the elbows. Therefore, one should be strictly restrained and taught to do so when going to other people's homes. Here, determining the root downfall means that in the actual situation, if one does not act according to this teaching, it will become the root of an evil deed that should be confessed. The actor here is the hand.
