Leaving anything whatsoever in another's house, having gone outside the boundary of the monastery due to work, when the dawn of the seventh day arises, it becomes the actual basis for the offense of abandonment and expiation of seven days' separation from robes. The agent of this is: the monastic robes of a monastic bhikkhu, and being outside the boundary of the monastery, and the dawn of the seventh day arising. This has five limbs that become the actual basis for the offense: any of the three monastic robes of a monastic bhikkhu, being left in another village, having gone outside the boundary of the monastery, except under the influence of an obstacle, and the dawn of the seventh day arising. If these limbs are not complete, then there is appropriate rebuke. The abandonment of separation for seven days is the twenty-seventh. The basis for the discussion of the abandonment of the great summer cloth is: The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was in Shravasti, residing in the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Garden. The Bhagavan declared, "A bhikkhu should hold the great summer cloth." Then, those bhikkhus who had promised to enter the summer retreat early would search, saying, "This is my time," and would hold it, saying, "Why should I not hold it?" Those who had promised to enter the summer retreat late would also search, saying, "This is my time," and would hold it, saying, "Why should I not hold it?" Because they searched too early and held it for too long, they became involved in many affairs and many activities, and they abandoned learning, reading, reciting, yoga, contemplation, and the inner peace of mind. Therefore, some bhikkhus with few desires would rebuke, ridicule, and criticize. At that time, the bhikkhus reported this to the Bhagavan. Then, the Bhagavan, as before, prescribed: "A bhikkhu should search for the great summer cloth when one Sogha month remains. After the summer has ended, it should be held for half a month." If a bhikkhu searches for the great summer cloth before one Sogha month remains, or holds it for more than half a month after the summer has ended, it is an offense of abandonment and expiation. The place was Shravasti. The person was a very large number of bhikkhus. The afflictions were desire and anger. The fault.

It means searching for summer cloth too early and keeping it for too long. Here, "bhikshu" refers to the one who holds this Dharma. "If the Sanghas have one month left" means if summer retreat will be observed in one month. "Summer cloth" refers to clothes for the rainy season. "Should be searched for" means from others. "After the end of summer, holding for half a month" means after the division, holding for half a month. "If a bhikshu searches for summer cloth before one month is left for the Sanghas" means before that time. "After the end of summer, holding for more than half a month" means exceeding that time. "Nissaggiya Pacittiya" is the same as before. Here, the root downfall is explained in detail: If a bhikshu himself promises to observe the early or late summer retreat, and one month before that, searches for suitable summer cloth, or after the division, holds summer cloth for more than half a month, then it constitutes the root of the Nissaggiya Pacittiya of summer cloth. The agent of this offense is: searching one month before promising the summer retreat, and holding it for more than half a month after the division, and it is suitable summer cloth. In this regard, both the time of searching and holding are constituted as the root downfall by three limbs: the period of one month before promising the summer retreat, the completion of the act of searching, and it is suitable summer cloth. The period of half a month after the division, holding it beyond that time, and it is suitable summer cloth. If these limbs are incomplete, then a minor offense is constituted as appropriate. The Nissaggiya Pacittiya of summer cloth is the twenty-eighth. The origin of the Nissaggiya translated from dedication is: The Buddha Bhagavan resided in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Garden. A beggar caused a householder to take refuge and established him in the precepts, and spoke of the seven foundations for accumulating merit arising from objects.

Praise of merit, etc. That householder invited the Buddha and the Sangha of monks to the umbrella, and offered two pieces of cloth as offerings. Near Delight heard this and had it transferred to himself. After that, the householder invited the Buddha and the Sangha of monks to his home to teach the Dharma, and said, "Please dedicate those two pieces of cloth to the elder." After having him dedicate it, he gave it to Near Delight. The monks scolded, "Why do monks with few desires, knowing that it is the gain dedicated to the Sangha, transfer it to an individual?" They rebuked, scolded, and slandered. At that time, the monks reported to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, as before, again ordained: "If a monk, knowing that it is the gain dedicated to the Sangha, transfers it to an individual, he commits a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense." The place was Sravasti, the person was Near Delight, the affliction was greed, and the offense was transferring the clothes offered by others to others to an individual. Among them, "again a monk" refers to the son of Shakya, Near Delight, or anyone else like him. "To the Sangha" refers to the Sangha of the Buddha's disciples. "Dedicated" refers to an individual. "Gain" refers to two kinds of gain, namely the gain of clothes and the gain of food. Here, it refers to the gain of clothes. "Knowing" means that one knows it oneself, or that others have told one. "Transfer to an individual" means offering it to oneself. "Commits a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense" means as before. Among them, here the fundamental offense is classified: If a monk completely transfers the gain of clothes offered by another donor to another monk or the Sangha to himself, it becomes the root of the Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense arising from the transformation of the offering. The author here is: the gain of clothes offered by others to others, knowingly transforming it to oneself and obtaining it. Here, with five limbs, it becomes a fundamental offense: any other donor, etc.
