Since there was no way to get paid from anywhere, he observed and thought, 'If only I could get paid from somewhere.' So, early in the morning, he put on his skirt, took his bowl and Dharma robes, and went to Shravasti to beg for alms. From five hundred widows who were weaving coarse cloth, he asked for a little bit of coarse cloth, and then exchanged it with a girl named Dema, and after getting fine coarse cloth, he joined with a trusted person of King Prasenajit of Kosala, named Great Man, and had the head of the weavers weave with great force, and then he was scolded, beaten, and insulted. At that time, the monks reported this matter to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One, as before, again established the precept: 'If a monk uses the coarse cloth he has begged for and has a weaver who is not a relative weave cloth, and it is woven, he commits a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense.' The place was Shravasti, the person was Nanda, the affliction was desire, and the offense was having a weaver who was not a relative weave cloth. Among them, a monk refers to the son of Shakya, Nanda, or anyone else like him. 'Coarse cloth begged for by oneself' means that some people beg for one liang, some people beg for half a liang, some people beg for two sho, and some people beg for one sho of coarse cloth. A weaver refers to a textile worker. 'Not a relative' means that maternal grandmother, maternal grandfather, and up to seven generations counting from maternal relatives are relatives, and beyond seven generations are not relatives. 'Having cloth woven' means any of the seven types of cloth, namely wool cloth, Shana cloth, Zama cloth, Dugula cloth, cotton wool cloth, Kotamba cloth, and Nio cloth. 'Woven' means getting cloth. 'Committing a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense' means the same as before. Among them, the classification of this root offense is: if a lay weaver who is not a relative is instructed without compensation, or if he is made to weave cloth through a messenger or other person, then it becomes the root offense of the Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense of having cloth woven. The agent of this matter is a lay weaver who is not a relative, and instructing without compensation or having him weave cloth through another person. This matter has five branches, becoming a root offense:

A weaver who is not a relative, without payment, verbal indication or instruction by another, suitable clothing, commissioning weaving of cloth that meets the standards, and the completion of the cloth. If any of these steps are incomplete, appropriate censure should be given. This is the downfall of commissioning weaving, the twenty-third. The origin of the offense of increasing weaving is: The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was dwelling in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Garden. In Shravasti, there was a master and servant couple who engaged in improper sexual conduct. They had a daughter who was always beaten. Nanda learned of this and, in order to ensure that the master and servant couple would take refuge and abide by the precepts, he praised the virtues of morality and spoke against the vices of immorality, thereby causing them to take refuge and abide by the precepts. Thereafter, they no longer beat the daughter. Nanda also commissioned a weaver, a certain person, to weave a piece of soft coarse cloth, agreeing on a price. The daughter heard of this and told Nanda. When Nanda went for alms in the morning, he obtained some dyes from the house of the courtesan Bhrengldanma, took them to the weaver, and said, "O virtuous one, dye these dyes onto this coarse cloth of mine, weave it tightly and long, apply oil to the warp threads, and weave the cloth well." Having commissioned the weaving in this way, the doubts of the master and servant couple were also dispelled. The weaver, having not received payment from the master and servant couple, blamed Nanda. Nanda tied the weaver in the sun, reviled him, scolded him, and spoke harshly to him. At that time, the monks reported this to the Bhagavan. Then, the Bhagavan said as before, for the sake of the monks, if a donor or the donor's wife is not a relative, and they commission a non-relative weaver to weave cloth, if that monk had not previously stated this, but some thoughts arose and he went to the non-relative weaver, saying: O virtuous weaver, know that this cloth is for me...
