Since the wife is not a relative, (they) accumulate their respective cloth money. The two of us will use this respective cloth money to buy these various kinds of cloth. When a monk named so-and-so comes, the two of us will each, at that time, dress him in suitable clothes, thinking like this. If that monk has not informed beforehand, and some thoughts arise. In order to want good, go to the householder and the householder's wife who are not relatives, and say this: O venerable ones, for me, which accumulated respective cloth money, with those respective cloth money, may the venerable ones buy these various kinds of cloth, and then the two gather together, please dress me well and timely in suitable clothes. After saying that, if the clothes are completed, then it is a Nissaggiya Pacittiya offense. This is how it is stipulated. The place is Shravasti. The person is Nanda. The affliction is desire.
