Therefore, he began to speak to the young woman as a young man would. Among those actions, what they accepted were: Sitting side by side with her, throwing things at each other, slapping each other, playing everywhere, making noise everywhere, and making bodily contact. What they did not accept was what happened after that: in the alleys, courtyards, and doorways, we heard from the prostitutes, gamblers, and illegitimate children some words that we had never heard before, and these words were heard from the Acharya. If our parents and siblings heard, they would not even let us go to see the garden of Rajagriha, let alone go there, they would scold us. They would throw things, they would say bad things. At that time, the monks reported this matter to the Blessed One. The Blessed One understood the cause and origin of this matter, and the occasion, and convened the Sangha of monks, and fully considered the ten benefits of establishing precepts. Therefore, my Shravaka disciples should recite the root of learning in this way: If any monk, with a mind of lust, speaks to a woman evil, degrading words related to sexual intercourse, just as a man speaks to a young woman, then he commits a Sanghavasesa offense. The location is Sravasti. The person is the Acharya. The affliction is desire. The offense is speaking of sexual intercourse. Again, the meaning of "any monk" is the same as before. The meaning of "with a mind of lust" is also the same as before. The meaning of "to a woman" is: being able to fully understand the meaning of good and bad words spoken to a woman or young woman. The meaning of "degrading" is: there are two kinds of degrading, namely, causing Parajika offenses and causing Sanghavasesa offenses. Why are these called "degrading"? Because of their nature and causation. From the nature, it is called "degrading" because it accepts the offense, that is, it generates the offense, that is, it generates the fault. From the causation, it is called "degrading" because it causes Parajika offenses, that is, speaking great lies; causing Sanghavasesa offenses, that is, speaking words related to sexual intercourse.

In short, the intention here is that the Sangha can be fully restored. The so-called "word" means speech. The "sin" in "sinful" means fault. "Having" means having the nature of sin. The so-called "not to be gathered" means exceeding the middle limit, which is unlawful. The so-called "words with sexual intercourse" means having impure conduct, that is, the name of the Dharma arising from the union of the two. The so-called "like a man treating a young girl," a man means a male, and a young girl means a female. The so-called "if said" means that the woman did not say it but said it, or the woman said it and repeated it. The so-called "Sanghavasesa" is the same as before. Here, the place of defeat should be expressed by fault, general characteristics, self-characteristics, and metaphors. Among them, arising means expressing it with "the word of the place of defeat is sinful." The general characteristic is expressed by "not to be gathered." The self-characteristic is expressed by "having sexual intercourse." The metaphor is expressed by "like a man treating a young girl." Therefore, the fundamental defeat is classified here: if words with sexual intercourse are spoken, it will become Sanghavasesa. The difference is that for women or young girls, if they can fully understand the Dharma that is well said or badly said, and have the desire to experience the pleasure of speaking, they are always greedy.

Furthermore, speaking words related to sexuality. Among those, if the details are incomplete, then rebuke accordingly. The Sangha residue offense of speaking words related to sexuality, this is the third. The origin story of the Sangha residue offense of reverence and praise is also the same as the origin story of the Sangha residue offense of physical contact. Specifically, Ajahn Kasyapa began to teach the Dharma to the wives of Brahmins and householders, and the more they were moved, the more he praised in front of them for the sake of serving his own body, saying: "A monk like me, who observes the precepts, possesses virtuous qualities, and practices celibacy, if served with this Dharma related to sexuality, then this woman is the most excellent of all services." Those who accepted would sit side by side with him, sway their bodies, push each other, play together, make noise together, and strike his body. Those who did not accept would come out and say in the streets, garbage heaps, and doorways: "We have heard words from Ajahn Kasyapa that we have never heard even in our own homes. If our parents, siblings, heard, they would not even let us go to see Jeta Grove, let alone go, they would scold, throw things, and speak ill." At that time, the monks reported to the Blessed One. The Blessed One, because of this matter, this origin, this occasion, convened the Sangha of monks, and saw the ten benefits of establishing the precepts, therefore, my disciples should recite and study the root of learning in this way: "If a monk, with a moved mind, in order to have women serve his own body, praises in front of women, saying: 'A monk like me, who observes the precepts, possesses virtuous qualities, and practices celibacy, if served with this Dharma related to sexuality, then this woman is the most excellent of all services,' commits a Sangha residue offense." The Blessed One thus established the precept. The place was Shravasti. The person was
