Those who hold a certain view, they insist that their view is the best, and they are very attached to the idea that "only this is true, and the others are false," and then they label them as such. The monks then did the act of expelling those two. When those two were expelled, where did they go? They went to Nidaga. Nidaga said, "Tsherma and Chinpo, why did you two do this?" The two of them said, "Those monks with black bowls did the act of expelling us two." Nidaga said, "Those who expelled you two, may they be expelled from villages, cities, regions, and the three realms!" However, for those who did the act of expulsion, are there no villages and cities? Please wait a moment, ask for forgiveness." He makes the two of them close, makes them intimate, and sleeps with the two of them in the same place. Those monks with few desires rebuke, "Why do the monks knowingly let those expelled novices get close, make them intimate, and sleep with them in the same place?" They condemn, they scold. At that time, the monks reported this matter to the Blessed One. Then, the Blessed One said as before, "Even if a novice says, 'Those desires that the Blessed One said are obstacles, even if one relies on them, they will not become obstacles, I understand the Dharma spoken by the Blessed One in this way.'" The monks said to that novice, "Novice, how can you say, 'Those desires that the Blessed One said are obstacles, even if one relies on them, they will not become obstacles, I understand the Dharma spoken by the Blessed One in this way'? Don't say that! Don't slander the Blessed One! Slandering the Blessed One is not good! The Blessed One would not say that! O Venerable One, novice, those things that obstruct desires are indeed obstacles." The Blessed One has said in many ways that if one relies on them, they will become obstacles. Novice, you hold sinful views.
