Thereafter, saying, "Venerable one, it is not comfortable for me to speak or stay with you. Thus, if it is comfortable for me to speak or stay alone, then go away," if he says so, it is an offense entailing downfall. This was established by the Blessed One. The place is Shravasti. The person is Nye-dga'. The affliction is hatred. The offense is intentional. Causing a monk to be cut off from food. Among them, who is the monk? It is the son of Shakya, Nye-dga', or anyone else like him. Seeking faults, in any way, faults will be sought in this monk. Thinking, in any way, this monk will be made to be cut off from food. Having that as the cause, it is not other. To the monk, it is said to the follower of this Dharma. Saying this, it is after saying this. Venerable one, come here! Let's go to the houses! It refers to the houses of Brahmins and faithful householders. There, you will receive offerings of food and drink, referring to the five foods and the five drinks. Saying, "How much you want, let it be given," it means how much is enough. He did not let him give, and after that, saying, "Venerable one, I It is not comfortable to speak or stay with you. Thus, if it is comfortable for me to speak or stay alone, then go away," saying that, it means saying that. Offense entailing downfall, it means burning, cooking, falling into sentient hell, animals, hungry ghosts, evil destinies, and inferior places. Furthermore, as long as that downfall is not confessed, and not confessed separately, it will obstruct virtuous Dharmas. Therefore, it is said to be an offense entailing downfall. Among them, here the classification of the fundamental downfall is: monks, unless it is for the purpose of treating the illness of another monk, intentionally through the words of a donor householder, causing him to be cut off from food, it will become the root of the downfall of causing to be cut off from food. The agent here is: the monk to be cut off from food, the donor householder, and the food itself. Through five branches, it will become a fundamental downfall: intentionally.

And, the cutting off of food should be done by the bhikshu himself, except for the purpose of treating illness, and the donor is a householder, advising with words and allowing the cutting off of food. If these conditions are not complete, then punishment should be given as appropriate. The transgression of cutting off food is the fifty-first. The basis for the transgression of touching fire is: When the Buddha Bhagavan was traveling in Magadha, he came to Rajagriha and stayed in the bamboo grove Kalandaka's residence in Rajagriha. At that time, the group of six bhikshus were playing with fire, throwing it at each other, and also making moons, suns, and firebrand wheels. The heretics, knowing this, ridiculed them, saying: These Shakyaputra shramanas are playing with fire, throwing it at each other, and also making moons, suns, and firebrand wheels. Even children do this, so what is the difference between knowledgeable people and children, and these Shakyaputra shramanas? What is the thinking? What is the difference? Who would want to give alms to these bald-headed shramanas? They slandered, blamed each other, and spoke harshly. The bhikshus reported this matter to the Bhagavan. Then, the Bhagavan, as before, established the precept, saying: If a bhikshu, without being ill, touches fire for himself or causes others to touch it, he commits a transgression. The place is Rajagriha, the people are the group of six, the affliction is the love of contention, and the offense is touching fire for oneself without being ill. Among them, "bhikshu" refers to the group of six or others like them. "Without being ill" refers to excluding the case of being ill. "For oneself" refers to for one's own sake. "Touching fire" refers to touching it oneself. "Causing others to touch it" refers to others touching it. "Committing a transgression" refers to being like before. Here, the actual transgression is distinguished in detail: A bhikshu plays with fire, throwing it at each other, making moons, suns, and firebrand wheels, and the teacher, the Dharma, the Sangha, and those who practice brahmacharya, for the purpose of actions that are in accordance with the Dharma.
