It is said as follows: milk, yogurt, butter, fish meat, meat, and dried meat, etc. Furthermore, if a monk who is not sick, for his own sake, takes such food from other people's homes, and chews or eats it, he commits a downfall. The place is the place of Shakya (ancient Kapilavastu in India). The people are the group of six monks. The afflictions are self-deprecation and gluttony. The offense is taking food from other people's homes and eating it when not sick and for one's own sake. Among them, "Bhagavan" refers to: Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-sambuddha. "Monks" refers to: those who follow this Dharma. "What foods are mentioned" refers to: well explained. For example: milk, yogurt, butter, fish meat, meat, and dried meat, etc., refers to food. "Which monk" refers to the group of six monks, or anyone else like that. "Not sick" means other than being sick. "For oneself" means dedicated to oneself. "Such food" refers to: milk, yogurt, butter, fish meat, meat, and dried meat, etc. "From other people's homes" means from the homes of Brahmins and householders. "Taken" means begging. "Chews or eats" means swallowing into the throat. "Commits a downfall" means as before. Among them, here, the establishment of the actual downfall is: if a monk who is not sick, has not made a proper request, or from a householder who is not a relative who gives alms, begs for food such as milk, yogurt, butter, fish meat, meat, dried meat, etc., and eats it himself, or if it is bad, good, ordinary, or well-obtained, if he begs for food himself as before and eats it, then it becomes the actual downfall of begging for food. The agent of this is: the monk who is not sick, who has not made a proper request, and the householder who is not a relative who gives alms, and the food is the agent. There are five branches to this that make it a real downfall: the monk himself is not sick, he has not made a proper request, it is food, the householder who gives alms is not a relative, and begging and eating.

If the limbs are incomplete, what need is there to mention other situations? This is the fortieth transgression concerning begging for favors. In summary: being with living beings, sitting in a sleeping place, standing and naked, war, preparing for two nights, quarreling, walking, hitting and threatening, and taking bad lodging. This is called the fifteenth, in summary, the meaning and necessity of the word are the same as before. The fifteenth also shows ten transgressions: using water with living beings, sitting in a house prepared for sleeping, standing in a house prepared for sleeping, giving alms to the naked, watching war, staying in war, experiencing the limbs of an army, hitting, threatening, and concealing the transgression of bad lodging. Among them, the basis for the transgression of using water with living beings is: The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was staying in the Ghositarama in Kauśāmbī. The venerable Ānanda knowingly used water with living beings. The monks said to him: Venerable Ānanda, you should not knowingly use water with living beings. He said: Does someone count and give it to me? What harm is there if I go to the great eastern ocean? What harm is there if I go to the great southern, western, and northern oceans? What harm is there if I enter rivers, lakes, and ponds? Then, some monks with few desires rebuked: Why do monks knowingly use water with living beings? They condemned, criticized, and ridiculed. At that time, the monks reported this matter to the Bhagavan. Then, the Bhagavan said as before: Any monk who knowingly uses water with living beings commits a transgression. The place is Kauśāmbī, the person is Ānanda, the affliction is carelessness, and the offense is knowingly using water with living beings. Among them, any monk refers to Ānanda or anyone else like him. Knowingly means that he himself knows or is told by others. With living beings refers to two kinds of situations with living beings:

Me and those that appear now, and those that will be caught by the water strainer. The so-called "using water" has two uses of water: internal and external. Internal uses are bathing, drinking, discarding toothpicks, washing hands and feet. External uses are washing the alms bowl, washing the small alms bowl, washing the Dharma robes, making pigments, sprinkling water in the temple, twisting threads, and smearing with manure. The so-called "lapse" refers to burning sentient beings in hell, animals, hungry ghosts, evil destinies, evil paths, and places of false views. Boiling, causing to fall. Furthermore, if the transgression is not confessed and not confessed separately, it will obscure the virtuous Dharma, therefore it is called a transgression. Previously, the transgression of using living things has been taught, and here the transgression of using water with living things is taught, and the common characteristics of the two are the same. The difference lies in: the former is not for one's own use, but involves the meaning of letting others use it, and the distinction is made on the object of making it used. The latter involves the meaning of one's own use, and the distinction is made on the object of making it used. Here, the actual transgression is distinguished: the characteristics of a Bhikshu using the body nearby for the purpose of his own use, and its essence, such as bathing and drinking, discarding toothpicks, washing hands and feet, body utensils, food, alms bowl, Dharma robes, dwelling, washing teeth, fire, etc., and mixing them in those utensils, as well as feces, pigments, grass, wood, etc., and water is needed in those mixtures, such as: cleaning, washing, rinsing, sprinkling water, sweeping, twisting threads, making porridge, making soup, water for making tsampa, as well as ghee, vegetable oil, honey, brown sugar foam, milk, butter, salt, grain salt, yogurt water, coarse grains and fruits.
