It is to eat the remaining food. Among them, the so-called bhikkhu refers to the group of six, or anyone similar to that. The so-called "food has been eaten and discarded" means that it has been completely and thoroughly completed. The so-called "no remainder" means that there is no remainder left, not discarded, not completely abandoned. The Blessed One said, "The remainder has been made, it is allowed to do so." The bhikkhus did not know how to make the remainder, and the Blessed One said, "Bhikkhu, anyone who has eaten and discarded, completely and thoroughly completed, if he obtains food and wants to eat, that bhikkhu washes his hands, gives and receives, and then sits in front of the bhikkhu who has not finished eating, has not withdrawn from the code of conduct, or has eaten and discarded, has not withdrawn from the code of conduct, and says this: 'Venerable, please listen to me, I, the bhikkhu, named so-and-so, want or do not want, have discarded, completely and thoroughly completed, if I want food and the food obtained, please make the remainder and give it to me.' After he eats two or three mouthfuls, he says this: 'Please leave with your food.' Among them, the bhikkhu who has not finished eating and has not withdrawn from the code of conduct, himself eats two or three mouthfuls and makes the remainder. The bhikkhu who has eaten and discarded and has not withdrawn from the code of conduct should not eat, but give it with his hand and make the remainder. There are five reasons to say that the remainder has not been made. What are the five? Outside the boundary, in a place that cannot be obtained, from behind, from under the armpit, allowing withdrawal from the code of conduct. There are five reasons to say that the remainder has been made. What are the five? The opposite of the previous ones. In addition, there are five reasons to say that the remainder has not been made. What are the five? Outside the boundary, in a place that cannot be obtained, at the bottom of the bowl, in the sleeve, allowing withdrawal from the code of conduct. There are five reasons to say that the remainder has been made. What are the five? The opposite of the previous ones. One.

One should uphold them in many special ways, and not regret this. Upholding or "upholding" refers to the five upholdings and the five upholdings. Eating or food, even if it is not in the throat. A downfall, as before. Now, here is a classification of the fundamental downfall: If a monk who has fasted and has no leftovers eats any food that is suitable for the time, it becomes the basis for the downfall of eating a single meal. The agent here is the one who has fasted, and who has a strong awareness of not having any leftovers. For this, if the limbs are complete, it becomes a fundamental downfall: fasting, having no leftovers, being aware of it, food suitable for the time, and eating it. If these limbs are incomplete, then one is blamed accordingly. The downfall of eating a single meal, this is the thirty-fourth. The basis for the downfall of relying on abandonment is: The Buddha, the Bhagavan, was staying in Shravasti, in the Jeta Grove, Anathapindika's Garden. In Shravasti, there was a householder who took a wife from the same caste, and together they played, rejoiced, and enjoyed various pleasures. When he became old, his relatives were exhausted, his wealth was exhausted, and his enjoyments were exhausted. He said to his young wife: Good woman, I am old and cannot accumulate wealth, so I will go forth into homelessness. Son of the king, please do so. He went to Jeta Grove and asked the monk to ordain him. The monk took him to a teacher who lived in a solitary place, meditating, who was well-versed in the Dharma and Vinaya, ordained him and gave him full ordination, and then entrusted him to that monk and sent him away. That monk had the old man read and study, but the old man was slow, and he repeatedly committed downfalls. So, he made him sit in front of him and made him confess his downfalls. The old man thought: My teacher always makes me sit in front of him and makes me confess my downfalls, I will also make him sit in front of me.

Thinking, how can I make him stay, and how can I make him commit a transgression? A householder invited the Buddha and the Sangha of monks to another house for a meal. The Buddha and the Sangha of monks went, and after the Buddha, the Blessed One, had finished his meal, he began to teach the Dharma to that householder. That monk then took the old monk and went to the householder's house. The householder offered food to the two of them, and the two of them declined, saying, "We have already eaten." The householder said, "Please enjoy it, please leave the rest to eat." The two accepted the offering, and then went from there to Jeta Grove. The monk was filtering water, and the old monk was allowed to leave the remaining food, so the old monk left his share, and then made the monk's share not left, and made him say it. Afterwards, he said, "You ate the food that was not left, you committed a transgression, confess it!" That monk said, "Old monk, I do not confess the transgression." Like this, you yourself will become a person with transgressions, you will be in that kind of situation. When he told the monks about this, those monks with few desires questioned, "Why do these monks knowingly know that the monk has already eaten, and has already declined, but still look for opportunities, trying to make this monk commit a mistake? Taking this as the cause, (saying) this venerable one, eat! Eat! Forcing (him) with food and food that has not been left." In this way, they scolded, slandered, and spoke harshly. At that time, the monks reported to the Blessed One. Afterwards, the Blessed One, as before (said): "Furthermore, if a monk knowingly knows that a monk has already eaten, and has already declined, but still looks for opportunities, trying to make this monk commit a mistake, taking this as the cause, (saying) this venerable one, eat! Eat! If you force (him) with food and food that has not been left, you commit a transgression." In this way, the precepts were established. The place was Shravasti, the person was the old monk, the affliction was creating sin, the sin
