It should be understood as being, it is measured. Competition, fame, desire, fear, suffering, and dependence also lead to giving. What is said to distinguish from these is for the purpose of offering and benefiting. Giving with the intention of offering to those who have completely passed away from suffering, and for others, desiring to benefit the great source of the senses. It has already been explained for whose benefit giving is done. Furthermore, by what does one give? By the actions of body and speech, universally aroused by the collection of mind. This is the characteristic of giving: When a virtuous person, gives his own possessions, at that time the aggregates of virtue, are clearly called giving. Thus it is said. What is the fruit of merit arising from giving? The fruit of liberation dedicated to liberation from suffering and all sentient beings, and the great enjoyment of fruition. The great enjoyment of fruition itself is, because the enjoyment of fruition is vast, abundant, and immeasurable. Furthermore, why is giving done? Giving is done for the benefit of oneself and others, and for the benefit of both. Giving after seeing the benefit of both is because one should accumulate roots of virtue for oneself, and to benefit the great source of the senses of the recipient. Therefore, it is in accordance with the meaning of the name, giving is to dispel the suffering of poverty of the giver and the receiver. There are two types of givers: those with afflictions and those without afflictions. Those with afflictions are also of two types: those who have not separated from the desire of desire and those who have separated from the desire of desire. Those who have not separated from the desire of desire are also of two types: noble ones and ordinary beings. Among them, the noble one who has not separated from the desire of desire and the ordinary being who has separated from desire, giving to the stupa, their roots of virtue and so on become two types, becoming the great enjoyment of fruition itself and the collection of obtaining the supreme meaning. The noble one who has separated from desire is the great enjoyment of fruition itself.

It is not, because it is very gathered from the land of ripening. Because there is no benefit to anything, it only exhausts one's own benefit, and it is the concluding word called "obtaining the supreme benefit." If one gives to other sentient beings without afflictions, then for him, because neither of the two, such as the root of virtue, exists, although there is no benefit of his own, it only exhausts the benefit of others. Giving to sentient beings with afflictions will become the benefit of both. Giving to stupas, etc., of those without afflictions will not become the benefit of both. The result of giving without distinction is great enjoyment, as it is said, that difference is due to eight causes, namely: field, object, attention, intention, the holding from that other, reliance, increase, and many people. Among them, the field aspect is, if the field is a place of giving and has qualities, then the fruit of that giving is great, and that field with qualities is also the Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, or other special individuals. If the fields of the two are the same, then how should one know whose karmic power is strong? It is the object, that is, whose object is precious, gold, silver, etc., beautiful and numerous, then his object, because it is the holding of excellence, the karmic power is established, but not the other's. If the objects and fields of the two are also the same, then how should one know whose karmic power is strong? It is attention, that is, whose attention gives with strong faith, then because it is seized by attention, one should know that the karmic power is strong, but not the other's. If those of the two are also the same, then how should one know whose karmic power is strong? It is intention, that is, who gives with the intention of nirvana, and after completely dedicating it to all sentient beings, then because it is seized by his intention, one should know that the karmic power is strong, but not the other's. If giving is done for the cause of heaven, or the cause of enjoyment, or the cause of result, then giving is like a merchant because the teacher Deva has the intention of complete grasping, as it is said, it should be blamed. If this is also the intention of nirvana
