And at all times, it is for the sake of preventing all evil deeds. Therefore, the naked ones say, "One should not commit evil from beyond a hundred yojanas." Brahmins say that killing livestock and offering horse sacrifices, etc., are not sinful. Similarly, the complete renunciation of the Shakya is to completely refrain from the five sins, and one should strive for the others. It is like a layperson not committing adultery out of desire. Therefore, the Bhagavan said that all evil deeds should not be done, because one does not desire this result. "Do not do all sins," this is called the sixth related to the owner, that is, for the sake of abandonment. In terms of entering the discipline, one should perfectly perform virtue. This is in terms of the previous "all," and even if it is not mentioned here, it should be understood. Or, the previously mentioned word "all" completely encompasses all sins, and the remainder shows all the virtues that are the antidote to it, however, the word "all" is no longer used. To this, it is indicated by the distinction of all things such as the body, that is, one should generate the possession of perfect qualities, which is the remainder of the sentence. Or, perfection itself is the very thing that brings about accomplishment. This must be done, because the fruit is to be made pleasing. In order to show the fruit of discipline, one must completely subdue one's own mind. Because without subduing one's own mind, there is no fruit of discipline. In order to show that discipline is nothing other than the peace of mind. Or, this shows the cause of the purity of discipline, because with the subduing of the mind as the precursor, discipline becomes pure. This is the teaching of the Buddha. This refers to the three previously mentioned, and all Buddhas also teach in this order, because one should completely abandon the evil realms, and the method for that is not to do all sins. One should accept the good realms and Nirvana, and the method for that is to do good and subdue the mind, that is, in order, the method of abandoning and accepting.

It is for that reason. Or it was said to teach the condensed Dharma of the Vinaya, Sutra, and Abhidhamma. It is because it shows the way to do good and accumulate merit that it says "giving" and so on. A blacksmith's son named Tsunda saw an evil monk, a blacksmith, wearing an armlet in his armpit, and said to him: There are four kinds of monks, there is no fifth, from "even to giving" and so on. The so-called "giving" means that by giving food and other things to a good field, the merit of the giver will increase greatly. That is to say, it will become good behavior and so on, and it will continue to grow, and even in this life, the meaning of precepts and non-precepts will increase. It is said in the Sutra that what always increases is merit. Like this, although the Tathagata who enjoys the alms you have offered has passed away into Nirvana, your merit will still increase, not evil, so it is taught. Regarding the situation of the evil monk, it is said, "Well subdued, enemies and others will not change." That is to say, with precepts, no one's enemy will change, because they do not harm or annoy others, and they have the behavior of a monk. Or, well subdued is patience, to teach that patience is the best asceticism. Therefore, the enemy will not hold a grudge. Regarding oneself, the word "good" is said, the Blessed One has special merit, so it is good, that is, abandoning the tools of evil, samsara. The exhaustion of afflictions will also lead to Nirvana, showing Nirvana at noon. Or, the previous two teach the objects of merit arising from giving and morality. This arises from meditation, it is the cause of immeasurable merit, and one obtains immeasurable merit, because of this, one completely abandons the desire realm of evil. By exhausting afflictions, one can obtain Nirvana, free from desire from the three realms. Or is it

This is the virtue of manifesting the path of liberation. Sin is the root cause of falling into evil destinies. In order to show the good deeds of existence, thereby showing the fruit of Nirvana. Nirvana is the cessation of afflictions. That is to say, liberation is also obtained by eliminating afflictions. Alternatively, this shows the path of practice. The reason for showing the four types of people is that they are placed on benefits and rewards. What is shown is that for householders it is generosity, for renunciates it is discipline, for ordinary beings it is obtaining the tolerance of the decisive part, and for learners it is eliminating afflictions. Without a companion, these acts of generosity and other virtues cannot be accomplished. Therefore, in order to include them, the wise, the foolish, and so on are mentioned. In Shravasti, a benefactor had a son who cried incessantly as soon as he was born, but if he saw a monk, he would not cry. The Blessed One heard of this and said: This is the last existence, he does not like to be with evil people. Then he uttered three verses. To go with... means to live together. A virtuous friend is the entirety of pure conduct, as it is said in the sutras. To dwell with the holy will correspond to the holy, as it is said in the sutras. Even if one is fully endowed with virtues, one should not dwell with the wicked. It is best to live alone, one should not associate with the wicked. These words are spoken in this way. Practicing with someone who has the virtue of guidance is later shown with a corresponding metaphor. It is also possible to live alone, which means that if there are no holy ones, one should live alone in some cases, and the story of the thick-lipped bird should also be told here. If one fails to find a companion of completely pure Dharma, then the wise should especially avoid living with those who are mixed with virtues, in order to show this, it is said: Fools and children. The reason for saying this is that children are focused on evil deeds. Children who are mixed with evil deeds are because they have no wisdom. As it is said: Those who do evil are ruthless lower people. Becoming poor
