He remained in the Udumbara garden. The Blessed One sat by the side of the slowly flowing lake, thinking: Where should I teach the Dharma to the four guardians of the world, and when will the Hinayana heretic Kasyapa be subdued? Again, the Blessed One thought: Wherever I teach the Dharma to them by the side of the slowly flowing lake, they will be subdued. When sentient beings in the world generate good thoughts, the four great kings know the Blessed One's thoughts and come before the Blessed One. Dhritarashtra, along with his retinue of gandharvas, is situated in the east. Virudhaka, along with his retinue of kumbhandas, is situated in the south. Virupaksha, along with his retinue of nagas, is situated in the west. Vaishravana, along with his retinue of yakshas, is situated in the north. Among them, two have the nature of noble ones, namely Dhritarashtra and Virudhaka. Two have the nature of evil ones, namely Virupaksha and Vaishravana. When Dhritarashtra was taught, he said: Great king, therefore, the body is destroyed, feelings are cooled, and so on. When Virudhaka was given power, he said: Just seeing, and so on, was widely proclaimed. When Virupaksha was given power, he said: Do not rejoice, and so on. When Vaishravana was given power, he said: This and mother, and so on. Therefore, the two teachings, contrary to worldly customs and in accordance with worldly customs, were stated as they are, and are visible. Among them, the teachings contrary to worldly customs are mainly explained, therefore, the treatise contrary to worldly customs was composed. How to arrange the connections in order? With the four words "this and mother" and so on, the four noble truths are explained in order. Among them, in the Sanskrit way, it starts with "e," meaning "this," which refers to head disease. In the language of the yakshas, it is "ene," meaning "this." Realization is seeing. And "and" means "this is how it exists, and it will be the end of suffering," that is how it is, because it precedes the realization of the truth of suffering.

Ro. Regarding "ma dang," "me ne" refers to the human body that arises from the sound of "ma," as the very cause is the origin of all suffering, which is the established conclusion. Similarly, "de las" and so forth should also be stated. Regarding "gdungs," from "dab pha" comes the pacification of suffering, meaning the pacification of suffering. "Gdungs," along with its result, means knowing cessation. Similarly, "de la" and so forth should also be stated. "Rab gdungs," from "dab pha," is the means of pacifying suffering, expressed by the term "rab gdungs," which means knowing the path along with its result. "'Di 'dra 'di ni" and so forth means that this itself is the ultimate end of suffering, as nirvana is attained through knowing suffering and so forth. Alternatively, it is the complete exhaustion of the suffering of the lower realms, as the result of the path of seeing is present in this. As it is said: "Through your power, one will fall into an unbearable state, for the path of the lower realms is filled with many faults." Why is it that in the context of the Yaksha's language, the noble language is spoken? It is explained: It is for the sake of individually and definitely rejoicing all around, as whatever the Supreme Conqueror spoke was under the authority of the great king Vaishravana and his retinue, and since the result of what the great king himself indicated is to be realized, there is no contradiction in this. Similarly, others should also be stated as appropriate. The meaning of the language of the borderlands is stated with the reversal as the main point, followed by "ma re mi dga'" and so forth. Furthermore, the four lines indicate the four noble truths and then explain their aspects. "Ma re" means it is not to be hoped for. That is, regarding the truth of suffering, one should not generate attachment to objects that are of the nature of suffering, like poisoned food. "Mi dga'" means that here, one should not rejoice in the truth of origin. That is, here, the truth is realized, leading to happiness. "Rab zhi dang" means the pacification of conditioned phenomena, the direct cessation.

It has been done, this is for the sake of the near pacification of suffering. "Universally detached from desire," this refers to generating detachment from desire from all things of samsara, this is the path to be meditated upon. Or, "do not desire" means that the realm of non-equanimity is harmful. "Not delighting" is the two that are equally placed, because it is the place of detachment from desire. "Extremely peaceful" means abandoning desire and so on through the power of the worldly and transmundane paths. "Universally detached from desire," this means being detached from desire from all, because of being detached from desire from the three realms, it is the meaning of being called completely liberated. Or, "do not desire" refers to the three realms. "Delight" is the Buddha, the Bhagavan, who has truly realized, his Dharma is well-spoken, the Sangha has entered well, up to the point of understanding suffering and understanding the path. "Extremely peaceful" is pacifying those who have arisen with desire and so on, the rest is as before. If someone asks, by what means can that which is taught be done? It is said: It depends on the difference of the amount of universal conceptualization, for the sake of teaching that, it is said, "just becoming visible by seeing," and so on. The noble being and retinue are particularly attached to the objects, It was said in order to be disgusted with them, and to show the means of refuting perversion. What is aimed at by the eye is seeing. Seeing is just seeing the form from it and just paying attention to the seeing for a short time, and one should not follow the untrue universal conceptualization, because it is the cause of following attachment and so on. "Just becoming heard by hearing," means that what is aimed at by the ear sense is hearing. One should only do a little hearing about it, one should only pay attention to hearing, not anything else. What is realized by the senses of ear, tongue, and body is the knower, because it obtains and grasps like a blind person. To that, it should be said that the knower is only knowing. What is completely determined by the mind's consciousness is consciousness, as it is said: the consciousness of the eye, ear, and mind, with the three
