The term 'noble' is used because it arises from paths such as seeing, that is, because it is far from sin, it is called noble, as stated in the sutras. Primarily, 'noble' refers to an Arhat who is free from desire in the three realms. 'Loving' is mentioned because one has done all that needs to be done for oneself, and is loving towards others, meaning benefiting others. Therefore, one is called 'supreme among humans' because one possesses the complete benefit of oneself and others, so rely on them, that is, abide. What is it? It is said that 'wise' means understanding without error, meaning 'skilled.' Like the moon in the path of stars. It means that just as the moon relies on the sky in the path of stars, and not on the ground, similarly, one should rely on a noble person who possesses wisdom, and not on a child. For example, in autumn, the moon relies on and enters the clear face of the sky, which is not covered by clouds, and it increases in fullness day by day. Similarly, relying on a noble and wise person also increases joy, contentment, faith, and so on, day by day. This is its meaning. The explanation of the twenty-fifth chapter, the Gathering of Good Friends, is completed. By abandoning sin and relying on virtuous friends, one not only attains completeness in samsara, but also attains the unsurpassed nirvana that transcends all meaning. To accomplish this, it is explained below this gathering. Saying 'turtle' and so on, in Shravasti, when the Blessed One was walking along the river, a turtle appeared from the river and entered the area of activity. A fox saw it and followed it to eat it. The Blessed One also saw it, seeing that it had retracted its limbs into its belly, and for the sake of those monks, said, 'Monks, just as an animal turtle, fearing a fox, retracts its limbs into its belly, so should you...' until the middle, that is, he said these things with it as the main subject. 'Like a turtle' means like an animal turtle. Limbs are like the appearance of hands, feet, and head.

It is because the body has five limbs. "In one's own abdomen" means that the body is put into one's own pocket, like putting the body into one's own pocket. The contraction of the body means putting in and hiding. Because when it goes to the activity place, it stretches out five limbs from the hole and walks around at will. If it sees harmful things such as foxes, it hides its limbs, just like that. "The monk gathers his mind inward," it is said, because the one who has renounced with the mind of Nirvana is a monk here. Gathering is preventing, it is holding and hiding from the arising of all realms, that is, the discriminations such as the desires of external objects related to the mind door. After showing the tranquility of the mind, in order to show the tranquility of the body, it is said "without reliance." That is, not relying on parents, children, wives, etc., and not staying. "Harmless" means infringing on others, not harming others by begging for Dharma clothes, etc., but by practicing with few desires and contentment. This shows abiding in the noble lineage, and in order to show this result, it is said "in Nirvana." That is, gradually, by the practice of the unpolluted path, one abandons the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing and the path of cultivation, and attains Nirvana, in order to obtain the Nirvana with remainder. Completely in Nirvana by the unpolluted path, yes. In order to show that it is not others, it is said "no one slanders," because there is no slander, so here it shows the cause of the fruit of the path. Therefore, having realized the unremaining Suchness, one will not obtain suffering, etc. How would they slander those who see it? Others rely on the first dhyana and abandon the discriminations such as desires, which are completely unwholesome. Afterwards, relying on the path of the second dhyana, etc., that is, relying on the first dhyana, etc., one abandons the discriminations of the ground of the first dhyana. One does not rely on its samadhi to experience the taste. After getting up from there, one will not harm others. Having obtained the path from there.
