Transcended, is the deity who enjoys in the desire realm. (དྲི་ཟས་མིན་, গন্ধাহার, gandhahara, non-odor food) Called non-odor food, it refers to the instrumental music performed by those such as Legga. (བདུད་, মার, mara, demon) Called demon, is the master of the desire realm. (ཚངས་པར་བཅས་པ་, সব্রহ্মক, sabrahmaka, with Brahma) Called with Brahma, is the lord of the empty world realm, with him. Called cannot be defeated, is that which cannot be reduced or eliminated. What kind of foundation and discipline must one possess to be undefeated? Called a monk, because he has destroyed afflictions. To show that afflictions are destroyed by the power of wisdom, it is mentioned to abide in wisdom, wisdom is the wisdom without outflows. Abiding is entering, therefore abiding in the sacred discipline. By the power of wisdom without outflows, subtle growth has been abandoned, because nothing can be completely destroyed, therefore the sutra says, monks, when you are abandoned by the supreme wisdom. I am burned by the fire of destruction, which no one else can do, similarly, the victor who overcomes a hundred thousand cannot defeat this person. Therefore, being able to conquer oneself is excellent, because he cannot be conquered, so conquering oneself is the most supreme. To illustrate, because by training oneself in this way, one can also benefit others, it is said: First abide in the Dharma. And so on. An old Brahmin and householder living in Shravasti, because of being distracted, frivolous, talkative, and arrogant, despised the Brahmins and householders who came to listen to the Dharma. The Blessed One spoke three verses. Called first oneself, is first one's own mind. Called having abided, refers to benefiting others in accordance with the noble ones, one must settle the four selves in the self that subdues the senses. Called then tame others, refers to teaching others at other times after that, and abiding in it. How to abide? Called like oneself to show, oneself

After pacifying, you should do likewise as I do. Otherwise, taming others will surely be without aim. For example, there is no opportunity to reach a sacred place. If one's self is not tamed, one cannot tame others. Taming oneself first is to show that taming others is not the cause of affliction. Therefore, it is said, "oneself first," and so on. Because abiding in the order of taming oneself, one will not become afflicted, that is its meaning. After one's self, being wise, abides in the good path, at other times one instructs and tames other sentient beings, causing them to enter that good path. "Not afflicted" means not becoming distressed, that neither oneself nor others will decline. In other places, it is said, "completely not afflicted," meaning not burning with distress. If asked, how does one not become afflicted? "To me" refers to oneself. Therefore, like this, if one wishes to tame others, then one must first accomplish oneself, that is its meaning. "Do thus" means striving in such activities and accumulating such merits. "As done to others" means that in whatever way one teaches others any activity, one should also do it oneself first. Here is to explain the reason. How does one become peaceful? It is because of taming the senses, in order to tame one's own untamed mind. The former shows the method of eliminating afflictions, while this shows the method of abandoning them from the root. "To be tamed" means leading sentient beings into the teachings, "other happiness" means without afflictions, meaning that these are words worthy of acceptance. If someone possesses tamed senses and a tamed mind, then even the gods will accept their words, what need to mention others? If asked, how does one become tamed? It is said, "to me," meaning to demonstrate through the practice and actions that I have experienced. If asked, who can make others happy? "Alas, I myself am well-tamed," refers to how oneself, through cultivating the distinction of antidotes, oneself
