In order to explain how to practice, it says, "Thus-gone One, Unequaled," and so on. Monks, before I had fully awakened to perfect and complete enlightenment, how often did I go alone to a solitary place and generate conceptual thoughts? I relied on and cultivated two dharmas, and by doing them extensively, I abided in them. I was not satisfied with virtuous dharmas, and I completely abandoned those unfavorable ones. From these, when will I fully awaken to unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment and become a Buddha? I pondered in this way. You should also rely on two dharmas and do them extensively, abiding in them. Do not be content with the inferior, but abide with a joyful attitude, aspiring to higher and higher, and exceedingly higher states. If you do so, it will not be long before your minds are liberated. From here, two verses were spoken. The term "Thus-gone One" (Tathāgata) is used because it is attained through a concordant assembly. The term "Buddha" is established as a name for the future, meaning that in reality, all things can be realized. This shows the state of the result and will show the state of benefiting others. The term "Unequaled" (Asama) means difficult to approach, as even the realm of the gods cannot suppress or approach it, because it possesses surpassing splendor. To show the cause of being unequaled, it says "Incomparable," because other beings cannot measure or examine it. The term "practicing two conceptual thoughts" means that among all conceptual thoughts, the Bhagavan practices, realizes, and attains only these two conceptual thoughts. To explain these two conceptual thoughts, it says, "Blissful conceptual thought, thus utterly tranquil." Non-harming conceptual thought is blissful conceptual thought, because by its nature of harmlessness, it becomes the cause of giving fearlessness. The meaning of "thus" is also the meaning of "utterly tranquil," the conceptual thought about the result of utter tranquility is tranquility, which means generating conceptual thought about renunciation.

To. These two should be used frequently, but other discriminations such as desire are not. Then, the Sutra says that one should abandon those who are not satisfied with virtue and those who are incompatible. Does it not refer to happiness and so on? That is true, but it is the name of that itself, so it is said in this way. Because all the roots of virtue are caused by the mind of non-harm, and because there is no obstacle, and because it is the way of definite departure, and because what should be abandoned has been abandoned. In order to show the fruit of the universal use of the two discriminations. It is called "Dispelling Darkness", dispelling and abandoning darkness is to uproot all the darkness of ignorance from the root. It is called "Going to the Other Shore", which is to obtain the realm of Nirvana with residue. It is called "Having Fame", which is to have immaculate fame, because fame spreads everywhere among gods and humans. All these differences are also in terms of the meaning of the names that will arise in the future, because there will be none of these at that time. Mentioning happiness refers to the discrimination of non-harm. Why use different words to express it? Here, it is to explain that perfect complete enlightenment arises from the difference of discrimination. Because what is said is related to the inner behavior, the outer behavior arises. If it is established, then it will also be established. Therefore, in order to explain that the accumulation of merit and wisdom arises from its universal discrimination, the Blessed One spoke these words, which is a symbol. Or, it is just that the Buddha's own state has become the previous state, that is, the state in which the two discriminations manifest. The rest is the same as before. If you ask how these two discriminations are used, in order to explain this, it is said, "By this, what should be obtained is obtained, and the mind is free." The so-called "by this" refers to the Tathagata. The perfect complete enlightenment that should be obtained has been obtained, that is, the master of the mind, who is free from the mind, has obtained the freedom of the mind. The so-called "universal liberation" is to liberate everything, which is to completely overwhelm everything.
