Therefore it is said. The so-called swift wisdom is swift because it possesses the special diligence of great compassion, that is, wherever there is a rigorous and non-lazy mind, the words are connected in this way. The mind that constantly engages in examining the affairs of sentient beings is explained by the words 'who declines and who prospers'. The former shows the wisdom that transcends the world with strength, while this is all worldly wisdom, because it is worldly wisdom. The so-called holding the last of the body is holding the last body. This shows perfect wisdom, because the end of samsara is the fruit of wisdom. It is said in the sutras that liberation will be attained through wisdom. In order to show the root cause of the differences such as samadhi, it is said that all those who have passed away and so on. When the householder Sudatta was listening to the Dharma and sitting with the Blessed One, King Prasenajit of Kosala came before the Blessed One. Because he was not greeted, he became displeased. Therefore, he prayed to listen to the Dharma, and from that, these three verses were spoken. The so-called all those past perfect Buddhas, refers to all those past Vipashyin Buddhas and so on. The so-called all those future Buddhas, refers to Maitreya and others who will appear in the future. After 155 billion and 60 million years, the Tathagata Maitreya will appear. The so-called all those present perfect Buddhas, refers to the Blessed One Shakyamuni Buddha who appeared in the present. Showing its distinction, the so-called eliminating the suffering of many, is to eradicate from the root the various sufferings of immeasurable disciples. Those previously shown are also connected with the so-called eliminating the suffering of many. The so-called abiding with all the sacred Dharma as supreme, means that all beings are also like this, and the Buddhas of the past were also abiding with special reverence in order to accomplish the teaching of the sacred Dharma. The so-called abiding means that the present Tathagata also regards the sacred Dharma as supreme.

Thus he acted and abided. 'Thus he will abide' means that the future Buddhas will also make the sacred Dharma their teacher and abide. Why? In order to show that, it is said here, 'It is the nature of the perfect Buddha.' Because making the sacred Dharma the teacher, truly generating it, is the nature of all Buddhas, in order to know that difference. There is no one who has a change arising from nature. Therefore, in order to show that, it is said, 'Here I rejoice,' because of that reason. This refers to this world. 'I rejoice' refers to a person who wants to benefit himself, whether a renunciate or a householder. In order to show the action of the meaning of this word, 'Great Being' is said, wanting the qualities of the cause of a Great Being, especially wanting qualities such as being free from attachment, because if it is made a quality, it will benefit oneself. What should be done? 'Make the sacred Dharma the teacher,' which means listening with respect, and making offerings, etc., because like a teacher, it gives benefit, and also for the Tathagatas to make offerings. How is it pleasing to me? It is said, 'Remember the Buddha's teachings,' which means that I should truly remember who I should attend to and respect in the world, who I should treat as a teacher, how I should act, etc., as stated in the sutras, and my mind should not be extremely dull towards that object. If the Buddha also makes the sacred Dharma the teacher, why should I not treat it as a teacher? I should truly remember, and I should strive for that. In order to show that not generating confident faith in the Tathagata's teachings is extremely dull-minded, and one will encounter great poverty, therefore it is said, 'Who is the Buddha,' etc. In the Simhala Sutra, the captain Simhala said to others, 'Here are the Rakshasa women, and soon we will be eaten, so ride on the back of the horse king Valaha and follow from behind.'

Even if they come, they will be destroyed if seen, so it was said. Those who act in accordance with his words will reach Jambudvipa. Apart from those, starting from being eaten, two verses were spoken. "Not generating faith" means not truly generating trust. In other places, it is said to be "without." A child is ignorant; one who dwells in darkness cannot see reason and unreason. Similarly, a mind overwhelmed by the darkness of universal ignorance cannot accomplish good deeds and so on. "Whoever" means sentient beings. Who is who? It is the teaching of the Buddha, the learning of what the Buddha taught and proclaimed, which is called the teaching of the Bhagavan. "Will go to the place of decline" means that ultimately suffering will be obtained, like what? Like how rakshasa women treat merchants. That is what it means. For example, a fool who does not listen to the words of Captain Simhala, just as rakshasa women take their lives, similarly, those whose bodies and speech do not act according to the teachings of the supreme Shakyamuni, who benefits all sentient beings, will be shown suffering. Whoever generates faith, it is with true faith. In other places, it is said to "believe." "A wise person" means a wise person who has wisdom and can truly understand things, meaning a sentient being. "He will happily reach the other shore" means that he will reach the other shore without any harm or suffering. Like a merchant with cloud power. "Having cloud power" refers to the king of the horses of the Thirty-Three Gods, who has great power. Those who follow the captain's words, relying on the horse king having cloud power, will reach Jambudvipa, similarly, those who have generated faith in the Sugata's teachings, relying on renunciation and practice of it, will reach the shore of Nirvana. Listening to the Dharma with faith, with faith as the guide, truly understanding
