The reason for this is that by abandoning it, the Buddha and his Shravaka disciples will be pleased, because they have understood its essence. Why? Because by eliminating it, there is no sorrow. This means that because anger is abandoned, one will no longer experience inner suffering in any way. To illustrate, those who follow it will grieve for a long time. Among them, "Who is angry, I" and so on, is what it means. Bhikshus, in the past, when the gods and Asuras were about to engage in battle, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, said to the Thirty-three Gods: Friends, when the gods and Asuras begin to fight, if the gods are victorious and the Asuras are defeated, then, friends, I will also capture the Asura King Vemacitrin alive, tie his neck with five bonds, and bring him to the city of the gods. The Asura King Vemacitrin also said the same to the Asuras. When Vemacitrin was brought to the city of the gods, tied with five bonds around his neck, in front of the gate of Sudharma Hall, the Lord of the Gods, Indra, would not scold him with harsh words when he went in and out. Matali said: Is Indra, the Lord of the Gods, afraid? Or is he powerless to endure? Vemacitrin's harsh words, hearing them clearly, does he endure in silence? Indra said: Although you see it this way, this is just a child's rebuttal. If one knows that the other is angry, one should pacify oneself. Thus he spoke. Therefore, the Buddha, the Bhagavan, spoke twelve verses. "Well-spoken" means to understand correctly and to know correctly, meaning to completely cut off what does not exist. What is that? It is said, "Who is angry," meaning disturbed. How is it said? "I have done well, but not badly," meaning that it is indeed done well, but not that a mistake has been made because of it, this is the obvious thought.

Anger is the cause of reversal. The following refers to another time. This clearly shows that pacifying anger means being free from the complete entanglement of anger. Like being burned by fire, one becomes tormented. It means that just as one is tormented by being burned, one will experience suffering from anger, because one will have the thought, "How could I have done such a vile thing?" Whoever is possessed by anger becomes shameless and without embarrassment; if one is free from shamelessness and embarrassment, then there is no anger. Whoever has shame is the one who possesses shame. One who does not possess shame is shameless. Whoever has a sense of shame is the one who is ashamed; one who is not ashamed is shameless. For them, respect for virtues and those who possess virtues is knowing shame. To view wrongdoing with fear is to have embarrassment. Regarding oneself, through clear observation, whatever is avoided is called shame. Avoiding slander that relies on others is called having embarrassment. Regarding the definitions of these two, others say so. Or, whoever has the state of anger becomes shameless, and so on, should be said in this way. One is angry because of disturbance. Without a code of conduct means that there is no discipline or code of conduct, because by its power, its code of conduct declines. "Anger completely suppresses" refers to a person who is controlled by others due to disturbance. No one relies on them. It means that neither parents nor any other, nor noble people, take the angry person as a place, island, or refuge. For those who are possessed by demons and controlled by others, who would approach with a trusting mind, hoping to benefit me? For those who are afraid of themselves, there is no trust. Just as no one would take a black poisonous snake with trust, one does not take them as a refuge or place, because fear of it destroys all trust. In order to show the faults of anger, it is said, "Whatever is the strength of children," and so on. Here.

On this topic, others say this: In Shravasti, a Brahmin by the name of Nagagiriya Graha, who was a courtier of King Sala, also known as King Prasenajit, went to the Blessed One and, upon arriving, reported, "Venerable One, I possess the power of manhood." They said, "When was this said?" His strength is powerless. "Powerless" means weak, and it is considered the strength of beings. "Ni" means "only." What is that? "Whoever has the power of a child." It means whoever is an object. A child is a fool, because he praises the child out of anger and intolerance. Because he is controlled by the means used to demean others, it should be known that he takes powerlessness as power. Why? "Child" means a fool. In order to show the characteristics of a child, it is mentioned "separated from the Dharma," which means accustomed to extreme harm. The sutra says, "A child is one who contemplates evil deeds," meaning abandoning good deeds. Something to be accomplished. "To be accomplished" refers to accomplishing and obtaining it through discipline and the noble path that relies on discipline, which is not possible with the power of a child, because he has no wisdom. Because the power of wisdom is considered the power of the wise, through the power of separate examination and the words of great learning. The wise also abide in the power of patience. Like this, there is no power of accomplishment, therefore, from the wise, it is what was said before. The power of a child is intolerance. It is shown that the strength of the wise is patience, and for someone who has become like this, patience itself is the pinnacle of strength, and in order to show this, "powerful" is mentioned, which here refers to someone who has most of the power is powerful. Some are proud of their physical strength and appearance, etc., and are fully aware of the teachings, etc. Able to endure the actions of the weak. "Able to endure the weak" means being able to endure even if the weak speak many evil words.
