Attachment is complete defilement, as undesirable as a swamp. As it is said in the scriptures: 'Entering into complete purity in this world, one prevents the nature of defilement, and such a transcendent one is called a Bhikshu.' A stronghold is difficult to abandon, because one cannot abandon everything by it except for the noble path. Some say that what is called defilement is ignorance. Others say that it is an abyss, the meaning of which has already been explained. 'From the torrent of samsara' means falling into the river of samsara. 'Completely crossing over' means having crossed over by possessing the noble path. 'Having crossed over' means having transcended, because there is a way to cross over the ocean of attachment. Therefore, it is said to go to the other shore, in order to attain Nirvana. Thinking is for dwelling happily in the seen Dharma. 'Not being led' means not being able to be led by karma and afflictions into another life. It is shown that the previously shown view has deteriorated, that is, because doubt in the three realms has been abandoned. 'Returning' means being endowed with complete peace of body and mind. 'Without taking' means that karma and afflictions have been uprooted from their roots, and there is no confusion of rebirth. In order to show the various names of attachment, it is said, 'Whoever is in this world' and so on. The Buddha said, 'Monks, these worlds are enslaved by attachment and are under the control of attachment.' Whoever is particularly attached to this world, his characteristic is that he has no attachment, and he does not seek the characteristics of the next world, and the complete exhaustion of all attachments is the true Brahmin. The various names of attachment are also mentioned: 'Whoever is in this world.' Or, attachment is of three kinds: attachment to bad conduct, attachment to good conduct, and attachment to existence, which is shown to be defiled in order. It is said, 'Whoever is in this world' and so on, for example, a merchant's son became infatuated with a very beautiful dancer, so he began to learn her art, and as a result, he was punished by the king.

Having been called "ིག་" and giving up the hope of harming, the venerable Shariputra provided protection, thereby cutting off desire. Based on this, the Blessed One spoke these words. Wanting to obtain what has not yet been obtained, the manifestation of wanting objects, is the meaning of what is called attachment. For whom there is not that here or elsewhere, that is non-attachment, that is, without desire. What is called "complete separation" is the abandonment of the remaining bonds. The benefits of abandoning desire and the suffering caused by it were spoken, such as like and dislike, and so on. Someone's son, having been born in hell, died and was reborn, able to remember past lives, repeatedly beat himself with hot ashes, and repeatedly entered the river. When the fruit of stream-entry is attained, one acts accordingly. Abandonment is complete renunciation. What is called "like" is liking desire, which refers to committing misconduct with another's wife in other lives. What is called "dislike" is extreme hatred, because it generates unpleasantness and so on, it causes one to be separated from attachment to desire. Becoming cool is obtaining satisfaction, showing the difference of having no afflictions and the suffering caused by them. Because of having the joy of seclusion, it shows the abandonment of the form realm, showing the absence of outflows. What is called "overcoming all the world" is the abandonment of the formless realm, overcoming all ordinary people. As it is said: One with attachment, through detachment... Stable is because there is no cause for shaking, so in the ultimate state, it does not shake like Mount Meru. Because of overcoming everything, in order to show that all actions have disappeared, therefore it says "human actions" and so on. A vidyadhara, through the power of mantra, bound four young gods to two chariots and entered the pleasure garden. Those gods were released by the Great Light Guardian and returned to their homes. When the Great Light Guardian gave the vidyadhara objects and caused the vidyadhara to attain the arhat fruit, he acted accordingly. Others are yogis named "Ganga Datta," who are always distracted and serve householders.
