Not saying. The so-called "desire" refers to the desire of greed. Furthermore, with regard to the three things themselves, it is said "with mud" and so on. Starting from the merits of Mahakashyapa, these were said, namely, "O monks, just as the sky is not stained by purity. Similarly, Mahakashyapa is not stained by the eight worldly dharmas," and three verses were spoken. "With mud" means that, for example, the sky is not stained by mud and impurities, and so on, and should be connected in this way. "As sweat to the moon" means that, for example, the center of the moon is not stained by dust and particles, and so on, it is not covered, nor does it become defiled. Similarly, one who is not stained by sin or evil deeds, that is a Brahmin. In order to show "whoever is not stained by sin," it is said "who abides" and so on, that is, the venerable Nagasena abides by realizing the signless samadhi. Then, the Great Brahma, surrounded by three hundred gods of the Brahma retinue, went to where the venerable Nagasena was, and from "as long as the peace of this venerable one makes us happy" these were said. "Abiding" means abiding in a solitary place. "Dust-free" means preventing desire, etc., by preventing impurities, etc. The fruits of the two solitudes are spoken of. "Thinking" means for the sake of realizing the four aspects of discernment, because they are the realm of meditators. "Done what is to be done" means eliminating the three lower realms by generating the path of seeing. "Exhaustion of defilements" means because what should be abandoned has been abandoned through cultivation. "Subdued" means because all delusion has been abandoned by obtaining the path of no more learning. "Dwelling at the limit of the body" means because there is no longer any other rebirth besides that. It shows that excellence, etc., can be obtained through the quiescence of wisdom, and says "wisdom is profound" and so on. Then, a skilled wandering ascetic wanted liberation, and having taken the teachings from him, but not having attained liberation there, he went before the Blessed One, and from "how long" he began to speak of those things. The others are the corpses of vultures.

It is said that this originated with the female mendicant Dema on the mountain of Po. The so-called "profound wisdom" is profound in that its meaning is deep and difficult to fathom, that is, through the wisdom of discernment, one realizes selflessness, etc. The so-called "subduing the mind" refers to generating the path of seeing by relying on the sequence of listening to the Buddha's words, etc. The so-called "skilled in the path and non-path" means obtaining the path of cultivation, therefore, he is particularly skilled in the path here. The so-called "whoever obtains the supreme meaning" means in order to obtain the nirvana with the remaining aggregates of the noble path. The sangha arising from the noble path is proclaimed. It starts from "man, whoever." This originated with the arhat Mahakashyapa living by alms. The word "whoever" in "whoever" is definitely understood as "oneself" or "existence." The so-called "man" is definitely understood as "in the human world," that is, "among people." The so-called "living" means sustaining life. The so-called "practicing by begging" means that the sangha of begging is begging. Therefore, "practice" means entering, meaning completely accepting begging. This shows solitude and contentment. The so-called "selflessness" means that because it is far from self-grasping, it shows that what should be abandoned by the path of seeing has been abandoned. The so-called "not harming anyone" means not harming any moving and dwelling beings, because they have been freed from attachment from the realm of harm. The so-called "having stability" means that because they have been freed from attachment from the higher ground, they are as immovable as a mountain. The so-called "having pure conduct" means obtaining the path of no more learning, having accomplished the benefit of oneself and others. The so-called "teaching the Dharma" refers to the linguistic form of the twelve branches. Why? Because "in order to practice omniscience," that is, in order to accomplish the uncontaminated realization. By cultivating the path, it is first shown that one has been freed from attachment from the desire realm. Therefore, "whoever desires," etc. is mentioned. The merchant's son named Suta, because of his handsome appearance, aroused admiration for those who were particularly greedy for beauty. How many householders are there?
