One born from... should not be called a Brahmin, just like prostitutes and others. If one wants to know for sure that one is born from the womb, how can it be determined? Because it has been explained that it is born from the mother. This is what is to be explained: "Born from the mother" means completely born from the mother, universally born. Whoever is born from mother and father is definitely born from the womb. However, how can one born from the womb become pure? How can one who is impure become a Brahmin? If it is said that one who recites the Vedas is a Brahmin, then it should be said: if accompanied by grasping. This means, if complete grasping exists. "Speaking as if by name" refers to those who have ways of speaking such as bhurbhuva (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思), it is merely speaking verbally, that is not a Brahmin. If that is the case, then who is a Brahmin, and how should a Brahmin be called? It has been said "completely without grasping," meaning without any grasping. "Without taking" means abandoning taking, because all afflictions and karma are abandoned. To show that whoever acts correctly and does the best is a Brahmin, therefore it is said "who" etc. Without misconduct of body etc., it shows having good conduct restrained by precepts. "Well restrained" means having precepts. "Three places" refers to the state of body etc. Or it refers to the precepts of individual liberation, meditation, and non-outflow. To show that even one who is well restrained merely by words is also a Brahmin, therefore it is said "understandable." "Understandable" means being able to understand suchness, which is the meaning of being true. Not harsh means making one content, making one happy. Words are pure language. Satisfactory means being able to properly combine beautiful language, satisfactory means being able to connect, without the meaning of alienation. Speaking means stating and showing. Whoever does not generate afflictions. This means not being combined with attachment and hatred. Who? It is the wise, the enlightened one, who shows in meaningful words, because unrelated words will confuse the wise.

does not do. It is taught that even with a single good deed of mind, one can become a Brahmin. That is, what is called bondage, and so on. The reviled Bharadvaja saw the Blessed One from afar, and having reviled him, spoke these words. Then, he developed great faith and spoke verses beginning with "without anger." He appeared and said, "Those who endure harsh words and revilement, I say are Brahmins." What is called killing and binding, killing is killing itself. Binding is to subjugate others with iron chains and the like. To endure this is to be patient. This shows that one endures the harm done by others without taking it to heart. If asked how one should endure, it is said, "not hating," that is, not disturbing the mind with anger and the like, but accepting and enduring. One who is not subdued by it is called a Brahmin. Therefore, it is said "patience" and so on, because patience itself is austerity, it is a place for increasing qualities, so it is said that patience is supreme austerity. That itself is the assembly of an army. That is, it has power and possesses this practice. For example, a king who has an assembly of an army consisting of four parts is not subdued by others and can completely conquer others, similarly, one who possesses the austerity of patience and becomes wealthy will not be subdued by sin and can even conquer the three realms. What is called without anger is without anger because it is not anger, this is because it has the excellence of patience. What is called virtuous means completely possessing the restraint of individual liberation, this shows the method of being without anger or change. What is called possessing austerity is because it possesses correct acceptance. This shows the purity of discipline. What is called without worry means being free from attachment to objects, meaning without joy. This shows extreme solitude. What is called subdued is because the senses are subdued. What is called abiding at the edge of the body, that is, such a person, is completely abiding in ordinary existence, this shows the desire for the three realms.
