The vow of the earth is taught. The so-called "field of complete liberation from all" is from all the branches of sin and all the causes of sin, that is, from turning away from sin. Thus, a householder cannot do it, but an ordained person can, so it is said, "Do not be attached to the home," that is, whoever makes the home the core is the one who makes the home the core, that is, the one who accepts and is attached to the home. Other than that, it is the meaning of being ordained. Then, the difference of cultivating the path based on morality is stated. It is called "selflessness," that is, because there is no view of the collection of destructibles, the path of seeing is shown. It is called "abandoning craving," that is, because craving is abandoned, the path of cultivation is shown. When it is fully known what should be abandoned first by the two paths, then it is said "abandoning desire," that is, first abandoning the desire realm. Practicing alone is because it is separated from the afflictions of the ground of equipoise. That is the ultimate monk. It is shown that that monk will attain the cessation of suffering. "Pure living" and so on are mentioned. The constant knower, the black wanderer, asked the Blessed One, how many monks will attain the cessation of suffering? The Blessed One said this. A friendly friend should be relied upon, that is, a good friend who is equal or superior and brings benefit should be relied upon. Relying on whom, sinful and unwholesome dharmas decrease and wholesome dharmas increase, that is a friendly friend. "Pure living" refers to all the means of living that are completely pure, that is, because wrong livelihood is abandoned. The order of guarding the precepts is taught. It is called "without laziness," that is, because there is no complete grasping. Because there is complete grasping, laziness will arise, like a tree with many sprouts spreading. Preventing it is without laziness. It is also said: A monk who does not grasp what can be grasped, and a yak living in a dense place, and a wild buffalo living in a secluded place, these three are heading towards death. That's what it says. Even without complete grasping, how can that benefit others?

Hey. Distributing separately like this, named "like this," also benefits especially through the method of separate distribution, which belongs to this situation, making it enter like this. There are two types of distribution: distributing separately by Dharma and distributing separately by wealth, which is expressed by these words. Relying on a noble person, all aspects of life are pure, completely without attachment and capable of giving, then one will benefit others in all aspects. Because taking the noble self as the highest standard of conduct, one is able to benefit others, otherwise one cannot, this is to explain this point. One should be skilled in the code of conduct. (This is) to explain that one becomes skilled in guarding the precepts and near precepts. Why is being skilled in the code of conduct connected to this? Like this, a person skilled in the code of conduct. (This is) to explain that because one loves noble conduct, like taming, conforming to the code of conduct taught in the three baskets, it is to follow the complete understanding of discipline. Then, what kind of fruit will such a bhikkhu obtain? Named "cessation of suffering," which is to obtain the fruit of liberation from samsara. Then, how can a bhikkhu be skilled in the code of conduct? To explain this, it is said "well restrained feet" and so on. A bhikkhu enters for alms, not restraining himself well, and being very unrestrained in the code of conduct, goes to a very secluded forest, sits under a tree and practices meditation. The Blessed One, together with the assembly of Shravakas, wandered in the forest and started from there. Others say that in the Jeta Grove, a sound of a water bird was heard, and looking up, a brick fell and killed a swan, which started from that bhikkhu. Restraining both hands well is to restrain the hands well, correctly restraining the hands, and not beating out of anger, nor doing things like taking other people's property. Named "well restrained feet," refers to actions such as killing related to this, because one does not do things like death when walking.
