The so-called 'no-self' and 'not arguing with others.' Flattering to please others for the sake of gain, etc., is arguing, that is, one should not do it for the sake of deceiving and misleading others. Those who have afflictions need to deceive others, etc., for the sake of gain, etc., but those who have no afflictions do not. Just as gold with impurities cannot be purified by fire, etc. Those who have abandoned habitual tendencies, even if there is a cause for transformation, will not be transformed by realization. To show this, it is said, 'Do not bind beings,' etc. A mother named Ridagszin (Tibetan transliteration: རི་དགས་འཛིན་) heard these words and said to them, 'Do not say that to the Blessed One. Do not speak in this way that is not praise. That will bring long-term harm, uselessness, and suffering.' After saying that, she went to the Blessed One and reported, 'Venerable, I also do not like the body parts of other Madhuraka (Tibetan transliteration: མ་དུ་ར་ཀ) castes.' After hearing those unpraising words, the Blessed One spoke two verses. She also invited the Blessed One and the Sangha of Shravaka monks to stay for seven days. The so-called 'harmer' refers to causing others to waver or die. The so-called 'with words' refers to with language. The so-called 'unbound beings' refers to bad behavior, like an untamed horse breaking free from its reins. What is harmed? It is a supplement to the correct precepts. How is it harmed? It is said, 'Like an elephant struck by an arrow on the battlefield.' For example, even the king of elephants, such as Protector of the Earth, who is endowed with excellent marks, is often pierced and shot by non-gods with arrows and other weapons on the battlefield of gods and non-gods. Similarly, even a great Bodhisattva who is adorned with hundreds of thousands of immeasurable qualities will be harmed by non-holy beings with harsh words and other arrows during disputes, that is, harmed by unrestrained words. So, how do they do it? The so-called 'even if heard' means even if heard a lot. The so-called 'words' means harming. The so-called 'expression' means

Is speaking. Unbearable is harsh speech, which hits the nail on the head. What is not thinking, is called patience. Bhikshu, is called one who has taken full ordination through petition and four karmas, even if he has not separated from desire, he follows the practice of virtue. That is, outwardly not thinking, is not abiding in the practice of virtue, but inwardly only patience, that is also the characteristic of non-disturbance. That is, this is said to be free from hatred, without the intention to harm. Through truly and completely observing, one can endure with this, but others cannot, to show this, it is said not to bind beings, etc. Well-placed, is called wisdom leading, holding with compassion, must be placed. What is it? Mind, is called the mind, is the consciousness that is truly placed. What is the well-placed mind? It is not living by crafts, etc. Bhikshus, abiding and sitting like a mandala, then speak words, venerable ones, the place of crafts is well-placed, from this to the passing away of the Blessed One, these were said. Crafts are hammering clay and gold, etc., and skillfully writing letters, etc., there is a state of living by this, doing other crafts cannot survive. How is it that a bhikshu does not rely on crafts to live? It is said that this way is the behavior of a householder. Abandoning, is showing reducing possessions, not making many possessions, not many living utensils, and the way of arranging well, abandoning taking unripe grains, etc. Rejoicing in myself, is called pleasing to oneself, whoever rejoices in myself, is always delighted in good deeds. How is a bhikshu rejoicing in myself? This is solely holding on to virtue, rejoicing in virtue, desiring to learn, etc. This shows the desire for good Dharma, then the discipline of the senses is spoken, the subdued senses are spoken, because of the subdued senses. This is the discipline.
