That is, completely grasping and manifesting the appearance of each object such as the body with mindfulness. It is the meaning of mindfulness of the body and so on. The mindfulness that becomes the path of accumulation, relying on it, one can obtain the nature of the path of seeing, not relying on others. Relying on it, one can also obtain samadhi like a vajra. Obtaining is the joy of being without outflows, the exhaustion of craving. In order to show that happiness is obtained by taming the mind, not suffering, it is said, "What is taming the mind," and so on. For example, the venerable Ananda ordained two boys, the former devoted himself to virtue, and thus attained the fruit of Arhat. Based on this, the Blessed One spoke this word. The other eats and sleeps a lot, and generates evil views. Based on these two, he spoke two verses. The one who guards the mind is the one who stops greed and harmful thoughts and other afflictions or objects, and makes them enter into virtue. It is the meaning of guarding the mind. Speech is speech, guarding against falsehood and so on, and making it correspond to beneficial, happy and harmless words, is the meaning of speech. Self is self. Body is the form aggregate. The word "and" shows that the combination of the three can become the accumulation of the path, but not by one alone. Always is constant, connected with guarding. Because the ten non-virtuous actions are abandoned, the benefits of this are explained. Abandoning is completely abandoning. Sorrow is the nature of remembrance and so on, the inner pain. Not obtaining suffering means that, due to all afflictions, one will not obtain the suffering of the lower realms. Even without afflictions, how can one obtain the suffering of existence? Thus it is shown, truly abiding, that is, in order to realize the four noble truths. Liking the truth is for observing the truth and respecting it, which shows the path of cultivation. Taming the mind is a fault.

Obtaining the knowledge without remainder, indicating the path of no further learning. The unguarded mind refers to indulging in all activities without restraint. The obscurations therein refer to the entities of afflictions to be abandoned by seeing and cultivating the path. In order to explain what is to be abandoned by seeing, it is said, "Destroyed by wrong views," etc., meaning that nihilistic views, etc., have been nearly destroyed. What is to be abandoned by cultivation is stated: "Sleep and drowsiness are suppressed," indicating that sleep and drowsiness constantly obscure. "Will be under the control of demons" means being enslaved by the demon of afflictions. Therefore, it is indicated here: "Therefore, the mind is to be guarded," because for that reason, the mind should be restrained from evil deeds. "Having the sphere of correct conceptualization" means abiding in conceptualizations such as renunciation, etc., because correct conceptualization is the sphere of activities such as renunciation, etc., and this is a place of manifest delight. By the power of this, the mind will be completely guarded. The cause of correct conceptualization is, "With correct view leading the way," which means that it is guided and preceded by the view of reality as it is. The result of entering by its power is shown: "Knowing correct arising and ceasing," that is, realizing the pervasive arising and complete destruction by the knowledge without outflows. It is indicated that all these are directed towards completely abandoning obscurations, and suppressing sleep and drowsiness is abandonment. The monk who suppresses sleep and drowsiness, because he has destroyed the obscurations, is indicated as having nirvana with remainder. "Obtaining the cessation of suffering" means obtaining nirvana without remainder. Alternatively, by taming the mind, many harms are pacified, which is explaining the benefit of taming the mind. It is said, "Mind tamed, truly holding precepts is bliss," etc. Holy-born killed many Shakyas, the killer was born in hells, etc., and those Shakyas who were killed were born in happy realms and complete peace.
