Then, having arrived in the presence of the Bhagavan, he reported, and then spoke two verses. Iron is iron itself. Striking is knocking, meaning that it is hammered with an iron tool. From burning, it means burning completely in all directions, fire is fire itself. Gradually completely extinguished, meaning that gradually, the light of the fire completely disappears. Just like not knowing where it went, meaning that it is like not being able to determine going to the east and other directions. After giving an example, he explained what should be measured by analogy. Those who are well liberated, meaning that well means that by the power of the path of seeing, they have abandoned the afflictions that should be abandoned, and therefore are completely liberated from the three lower realms. Crossing the mud of desire, meaning what is the mud of desire, that is the mud of desire. Having the state of crossing that river, because the afflictions to be abandoned by the path of seeing and meditation in the three realms have been abandoned. The afflictions of the upper realms are like the sky, which cannot be spoken of. The good deeds performed in desire are also like mud. It is impossible to determine where to go, meaning that for those people, it is impossible to predict going to the five paths, because the afflictions of the five paths have been abandoned. Why can't the destination of those people be determined? Obtaining an unshakable position is indicated, entering the realm of nirvana without remainder is an unshakable position, entering that constant state. That is also like being able to determine different rivers, just like the great rivers such as the Ganges that flow into high and low places. When it flows into the ocean from there, it is as if all the previous names disappear. Whenever he is free from desire in the three realms, even if the gods such as Ishvara look at him many times, it is inconceivable, let alone others, in order to benefit those who are subdued and temporarily stay here. What is it like? Who is in it, etc. are mentioned. After that, the lord of the gods, Indra, thought like this.

Thinking, 'When will I see the venerable Mahakashyapa and be able to beg from him?' After thinking this, to fulfill his wish, he spoke this verse. 'The great-minded' refers to the inner activity, which is the meaning of mind. 'Disturbances' refers to disturbing and destroying the great self-master, this is its definition. For the sake of accomplishing anger, jealousy, hatred, and holding grudges. Here, the plural form is used to express accomplishment, because if the continuum is filled with love and so on, where would there be an opportunity for anger? This shows that he has abandoned attachment to desire. 'Liberated from existence and non-existence' refers to in this way, existence refers to any being, whether it is a god or anything else. This itself is existence, that is, liberation from and transcendence of craving, the meaning of existence is craving. Non-existence refers to being separate from existence, that is, transcending craving, this shows that he has abandoned attachment to higher realms. 'He is fearless' refers to being free from fear, because he has abandoned attachment to desire. Happiness refers to the happiness that is truly born. Even if this core happiness is completely abandoned, he will not weaken because of it, because he has special happiness, so he can be completely liberated, because he has abandoned attachment to the form realm and obtained special supreme joy. 'Without sorrow' refers to being free from attachment to the formless realm, because all the suffering in his continuum has completely ceased. Even the gods cannot see and contemplate. 'Inconceivable' refers to being unable to be satisfied, because the meaning of the root of the word is diverse, so inconceivable is unable to be satisfied. Or, contemplation is certainty, and inconceivable is uncertainty, because from their forms, by observing here, it is impossible to truly know or recognize the inner truth. In other places it is said, 'Even the gods cannot conquer.' The meaning here is that even the gods of the Mara's retinue cannot interfere.
