It is like trees and the seeds of Nimaba. Maturation is also, similarity is also, therefore it is maturation similarity. What is non-existent, that does not become maturation similarity. Where does maturation dissimilarity come from? For example, non-Dharma leads to falling into hell. This refers to the fact that accumulating evil deeds leads to obtaining evil destinies. Dharma leads to obtaining good destinies. This refers to the fact that because it is the cause of doing good, one obtains good destinies. If that is the case, why not strive to do good in everything? It is said in response, because it is difficult. Even if giving is small for the time being, doing good is very difficult to accomplish, let alone other things? To illustrate this, giving and so on are mentioned. The householder hero, having obtained the five great gifts, thought that he should offer a set of excellent cloths to the Blessed One, so he entered the clothing store and began to examine them. From seeing that all the clothes were good, he became very distracted. From this, the telling of two verses began. The so-called giving refers to the meaning of completely giving away wealth. The so-called battle refers to the state where enemies attack on the battlefield, wearing clothes and armor, fighting and beating each other. The conjunction "and" is to show that these two are the same. Why are they said to be similar? Because the wise show them to be the same. This is to explain why helping and harming are similar for the noble ones. The nature of battle is not merit, but giving is the nature of merit, because it brings benefit, and merit is also the essence of ultimate action. So, how is battle said to be merit? Fighting with some can also benefit countless beings. For example, the great hero, the Bodhisattva who became the leader of the caravan, is like the great Yaksha of Garuna (Roga-nā, Sanskrit), where the fault here is small, but the meaning is great, because he saved all the merchants, so it is merit. Others say: If merit is the means, then all evil deeds are for the sake of merit. The Able One in the world.

It is shown as being of extremely bad reputation. Then, what will exist in that merit that is praised by the world? If you ask that. It is called a bad name, which means ordinary people and inferior beings. It means that in the difference between those two merits, evil people do not appear or exist. The great ones themselves are connected with giving and fighting. In order to correctly show these two from the place and time, it is said: The time of giving and the time of fighting. It is said that the time of giving should be observed like the time of fighting. Because these two are to accomplish the cause of the same time. For example, in the time of battle, fighting with thousands of people and being able to win, but being distracted. Just like thinking about how to conquer the enemy, with what weapon, when or where, how to protect oneself, how to gain victory. Similarly, at the time of giving, one is also completely distracted. One should think about doing great giving, when to give, how to give, how much to give, to whom to give, what will happen from this, and so on. If you ask whether only the same place and time are shown, it means that it is completely grasped by the cause. From the brief cause, if that is the case, the results and so on will also be the same. The difference in the perfection of giving and fighting arises, which is the correct arising of fame and so on. Or, being completely grasped by the cause also arises from the cause that completely arises from those two. It means that it is not only the same place and time. The cause of those two is the nature of wisdom, compassion, steadfastness, and harming others. Connected with this, Bodhisattvas will also act in a very famous manner. As it is said: Even if it is the nature of Dharma, it is despised by others, the obstacles of enjoyment and the people of joyless terror also try their best, fighting in order with great majesty, with a mind clearly inclined towards the two, that will be very fierce.
