That is completely abandoned. The latent tendencies of those who are subject to death and close to suffering are demons, and that is bondage. Abandoning that is completely abandoning it. The bonds of demons should be abandoned. It should be connected in this way. It should be known that this was said in order to show the way to be liberated from the bonds of demons. The explanation of the sixth chapter on ethics is complete. In order to fully show the nature of ethics, or in order to show its types, the chapter on good conduct should be shown. It is said, "Evil deeds of the body should be abandoned," etc. When in Nyanyan Yod (Shravasti, an ancient Indian city in the 6th century BC), three monks lived together, one of whom lived with great transgressions of evil deeds of the body, and the others also lived with evil deeds of speech and mind. Relying on them, three verses were spoken. Whatever becomes extremely bad is evil conduct, and whatever becomes the cause of defilement is the meaning of evil conduct. Other than that, the body is close to being destroyed, and it is not evil conduct. In this regard, taking the path of action that is close to being taken correctly is evil conduct, or it is the nature of the body, or evil conduct that has the body as its cause is the non-manifest form of evil conduct of the body. That should be abandoned, and in order to prevent that, one should diligently follow. After speaking of the nature of good conduct in the manner of preventing it, in order to show the nature of entering, it is said, "Good deeds should be done with the body," etc., that is, to be completely in accordance with the ethics of the body. In order to distinguish half of the previous verse, it is said, "If one protects oneself from the great sins of the body," etc. Similarly, the verses of speech and mind should also be spoken appropriately. It is said, "Evil deeds of the body should be abandoned," that is, those three monks who lived together, after hearing this type of Dharma, gave rise to correct understanding and reported to the Bhagavan in this way. Similarly, in brief, venerable ones, we with this type of Dharma

From "Hearing will accomplish the meaning of the long term," three verses were spoken. "Acting wrongly with the body" refers to the three types of actions, such as killing, including preparation, the main action, and the conclusion. Abandoning means discarding. "Acting wrongly with speech" refers to the four wrongdoings of speech, such as lying. "Acting wrongly with the mind" refers to the three types of mental wrongdoings, such as covetousness. "Whatever else" means that any wrongdoings included in other paths of action should also be abandoned. Why should they be abandoned? Because "whatever is faulty" is connected with afflictions, and it causes afflictions, and because it brings unpleasant results. After abandoning these, what should be done? It was said, "Do good deeds with the body," etc., that is, to act virtuously by abandoning killing, etc., which are naturally good actions. "Do most good with speech" means that because there are four types of virtuous speech, it is said to be most, that is, these should be practiced. How much and what kind of good should be done with the mind? It was said, "Do not be separated from the four immeasurables." Because it is focused on limitless sentient beings, it is immeasurable. But virtuous actions with the body, etc., are focused on individually determined individuals, so they are measurable. Not being separated from the four means not being separated from harmlessness, that is, becoming the realm of peace. In order to show the benefits of acting in this way with superior intention, it was said, "Do good deeds with the body," etc., the meaning of which has already been explained. "In this" refers to experiencing in the visible dharma. "Also in the other" refers to obtaining happiness by being born and experiencing in the other world, etc. "Constant happiness" means that the happiness of the cessation of craving here is constant, because whatever is in accordance with a constant cause, one obtains a pure result, that is, in this way, monks, by following it from then on, one will especially obtain it. Anyone who is able to abandon wrongdoings of the body, etc., and abides and transforms into virtuous actions
