This is to show non-harm. It is always said of the body, etc. Then, a Brahmin named "Desiring Sacrifice" went to where the Blessed One was. Venerable one, I am performing a non-harmful sacrifice, and what is it for? Because in the sacrifice, cows, buffaloes, and female buffaloes, etc., all these are killed, one can be reborn in a good realm, and I do not believe this statement. What I do is a Dharma characterized by non-harm, so after praying like this, four verses were spoken. Others say that the forty monks who are very diligent and faithful do not harm anyone, but these six groups of monks always harm others, so this is said to them. Always to restrain the body. This is because one always possesses a body restrained by the Pratimoksha vows, meditation, and the undefiled precepts. The Conqueror refers to those who are without desire. Non-harm means non-harm because it does not harm, meaning not harming others with sticks and weapons, etc. This is unrelated to external harm and its causes. Its result is: He said, that one goes to the deathless place. The deathless place refers to the place without death. Going means obtaining, meaning Nirvana. In order to illustrate the benefit of this result, he said, where does one go where there is no sorrow. Where refers to the place. Going refers to having transcended, no longer experiencing the sorrow of all suffering, because all harm has been completely abandoned. The same should be said for speech and mind. The characteristic of good conduct is not only the characteristic of the Conqueror, but also the characteristic of the steadfast, in order to illustrate this, he said, the steadfast restrain the body, etc. The steadfast refers to the wise, which itself relies on the non-attachment of the body. Speech refers to words. If completely restrained, it means that any one restraint is steadfast, which two

That discipline is extremely firm, it is the jewel of the crown. Those who practice it, in due order, will become Hearers and Solitary Buddhas, and will enter the city of liberation of the noble ones, because they abide in the communities of small, medium, and large. What is the nature of being able to endure and being firm? Having explained the discipline, what is it like? It is said that the discipline of the body, etc., has been explained. The Hearers of the perfectly enlightened Buddha Shakyamuni desire afflictions and are close to sins, but they are not very diligent in virtuous deeds, and they are satisfied with a small amount of virtue, so it is said according to them. The Blessed One spoke three verses of individual liberation, among which, the meaning of "Do no evil" is related to that, so it is explained in the collection of sins. The second verse is explained here. It is said that the other verses originated from the five monks. The discipline of the body means to tame. "Good" is praise. Because in this life there is the fruit of reputation, and in the next life there is the fruit of the manifestation of desired pleasures, and there is the fruit of liberation, it is good. It should be known that this discipline of the body is a good thing. Why is it said, "In all places, discipline is good"? It is said that "The monk who tames everything" etc. has been explained. Why is it that whoever abides by taming everything with the body etc., he will quickly pacify afflictions without interruption by the power of cultivating the path? Because he has extinguished and destroyed them, he is a monk. After obtaining the Nirvana with remainder, he obtains the realm of Nirvana without remainder, so he is liberated from all suffering, and he is liberated from all suffering. Discipline is related to the path, and because it is related to it, one will be liberated from all suffering. To indicate this meaning, "Guarding speech" etc. has been explained. This is the practitioner of guarding speech, which means being tamed by the discipline of speech, which is guarding speech. Is that also the meaning of the word taming? Or after careful consideration, not unwholesome not

is the practice, and the practice of turning away from non-virtue is discipline. Does merely turning away allow one to abide on the path? No. It is said, "If these three paths of action are purified." This means that by training in the collection of paths, such as the virtues of actions of body, etc., as previously mentioned, one becomes free from defilements. It is shown that there is no other path of action besides these three. The so-called "spoken by the righteous" refers to the teachings of the Buddha, which is the supreme path, and it is the only one. As it is said in the sutra, "Some monks should abandon it with supreme wisdom." The so-called "the path will be attained" means that one will accomplish all the antidotes to afflictions. The seventh explanation of the chapter on good conduct is complete. In the chapter on ethics, if the merits of turning away from misconduct of body, etc., are generally proclaimed, then should one completely turn away from all misconduct? No. It is said: Although this is the case, it is especially the misconduct of speech, because merely doing so will result in falling into sin by disrupting the harmony of the Sangha. Therefore, it is said in the sutra, "Whoever says what has been done has not been done, etc." In Shravasti, a Brahman woman named Chancha was instigated by other heretics. She was very charming and beautiful. She tied a pot around her waist and came to the place where the Blessed One was teaching the Dharma in the midst of a large retinue, and said: The voice is very melodious.
