Moreover, there are many faults. If one becomes content here, then even if the benefit is small and the faults are many, one will pursue it because one becomes content. Or, even if the benefit is great and there are no faults, even if one does not become content, one should pursue it for the sake of happiness. Or, even if the benefit is small and the suffering is small, even so, it is precisely for the sake of happiness that one should pursue it. Because desires are never satisfied, and the benefit is small and the faults are many. Therefore, one should fully understand it in this way. The fully enlightened Buddha and the Shravakas do not make this their object, therefore, the benefits of not being attached to desires, its fruit is the manifestation of delight in Nirvana, this is what is taught here. "Even if a rain of Karshapanas falls." The term Karshapana refers to the commercial term for destroying images, it is a category of Panas made of gold and so on. Others say that the measure of a copper Pana is a Karsha. Those that fall are rain, that is, they fall continuously. Even so, those who are filled with craving are not satisfied by desires. As it is said: Whatever is obtained, one is attached to it, From what is obtained, attachment arises. And, This pit of craving is bottomless, Difficult to fill, what will fill it? Even if a great amount is poured in, It cannot be filled, it sinks into the depths. Others say that it is a rain of the seven precious things. For example, in the palace of King Ngalanu, there was a rain of the seven precious things for seven days, because many jewels were obtained here, so it is said that Karshapana is to symbolize it. Satisfaction means being completely free from thirst. What does not satisfy? It is said: desires, such as forms and so on. It is shown that from perfect wealth, craving for desires increases. The term "does not change" means non-existence. It means that wisdom itself satisfies here, but not by completely taking the objects of desire. How does wisdom satisfy? Because of attending to reality as it is. Thus, the fault of not being satisfied is shown.

To explain other aspects, it is said: The term "small desire" is mentioned, like food mixed with poison, there is little happiness, and it is like a dream. The meaning of "many faults" is that where there is much suffering, there are many faults, thus combining the words, meaning many harms. As it is said: Like the difference between Mount Meru and a mustard seed, The vastness of the ocean and the difference of a drop, Also the distinction between two minds, bad and good, The wise consider happiness and suffering to be like that. To comprehend means to ascertain Suchness and to thoroughly understand its meaning. The wise are those who, because their minds are very clear, correctly examine non-virtue and so forth, and thus enter the path. Having fully understood desire in these three ways, what then? It is said: From the desires of the gods. This term is mentioned because they are gods themselves. Their desires are particularly pleasing, but because the wise see the future faults in them, they never attain them. So what need is there to even mention the desires of humans, this is the tone of "also." Since there is no real joy in desires, what will bring real joy? It is said: Joy comes from the cessation of craving. This term is mentioned, meaning that Nirvana is true joy. Is it that everyone necessarily dislikes desires and finds joy in the cessation of craving? It is not so, it is said: The fully enlightened Buddhas and the Shravakas. This term is mentioned, only they will find joy, others are not like that, for example, being without attachment to external objects and delighting in meditation, or delighting in the formless realm. The fully enlightened Buddhas are so that the unerring assembly can fully understand the meaning of the reality of Suchness. His Shravakas are those who follow his teachings, because they correctly follow him. Therefore, here, by pointing out the faults of experiencing desires, these words are spoken to turn away from that. A rain of Karshapanas.
