And completely passing from sorrow, and not manifesting accumulation and completely passing from sorrow, and in the teaching called upward transference, the Blessed One spoke thus. Here also, in brief, in order for a Bhikshu who dwells greatly in discipline to discern the distinction, by what does one practice correctly, and what is correct practice, and what is the fruit of correct practice, and what is the benefit of that fruit, these are explained here. Among these, what is called arising aspiration is by what one practices correctly. Not exhausting, having no fault in the mind, and mindfulness are what is correct practice. By one, when wandering in the city for alms, completely guarding the gates of the senses is pure conduct. Abiding in the second is completely purifying the mind from obscurations, which is pure abiding. By the third, abiding in completely pure conduct and relying on Samadhi, for the sake of abandoning habitual tendencies, one cultivates the antidote of mindfulness, the four close placements. This also, in the state of not being in equipoise, there are two kinds of correct practice. In the state of being in equipoise, it is shown as one kind. The fruit of correct practice is shown by what is called not being attached separately to desires. The benefit of that fruit is where one transfers to, which are these. The distinction of each word is that what is called aspiration is whoever has this aspiration arising, that is aspiration arising, which is the meaning of what is called desire arising. For whom in this way, Dharma is aspiration arising, that is, when will one complete the birth and abide, and what is completing the noble birth and abiding, that is the meaning of the word aspiration arising. By this, the first practice shows upward transference. What is called not leaking is the entering into the object of afflictions is leaking. Because it continuously leaks and arises, like pus flowing out, whoever has that is leaking, which is not guarding the gates of the senses. Therefore, it is said in the Sutra, in any case, Bhikshus, how does one completely leak? It is abiding without guarding the gates of the senses. Why is it called leaking?

Then, it is said. For the six sense sources (referring to the six sense organs of eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind), they leak out towards various objects, just like water leaking from the holes of a leather bag. Not leaking out should be understood as the opposite of this. The so-called 'no fault in the mind' means that there are no faults and defilements in the mind, that is, not being completely conceptualized by the pervasive conceptualizations of defilement. And the pervasive conceptualization of defilement is also known as the conceptualization of desire, harm, and malice. Because there is no fault of definitely not arising, harm, and malice in conceptualization, that's why it is like this. Therefore, it is said in the sutra. How can one conceptualize without fault? It is not arising definitely, without harm, and not becoming a conceptualization of malice. Therefore, through this order, in order to enable those who have become vessels and yogis to realize the truth, wanting to begin practice, first, in order to show that one should diligently practice these four mindfulnesses, therefore the word 'mindfulness' is spoken. Abiding in the four mindfulnesses, therefore, it is said in the sutra. Again, how does a monk become mindful? That is, in this, on the inner body, abiding by following the body, broadly speaking, it is the Dharma. Is it just this much that one can move upwards? It is not so, so it is said: However, there is no separate attachment to desires. There is no attachment to objects such as form, which means that the habit of desire for any desire has been completely abandoned by the path of non-leakage. It is said that this is moving upwards. The so-called 'upwards' means more upwards. The so-called 'moving' means going forward, meaning that any birth is not in its own position and below, but where it is born. Apart from the four types of non-returners, saying it like this is because there are cases of decline. Like this, all ordinary beings and non-ordinary beings who practice in desire are bound to decline. For all non-returners, not having obtained the difference of other practices, then where will they definitely go? For those who have generated the desire for the collection of paths and so on, and mindfulness.
