After cutting and taking away, the remaining hollow and rotten parts are not needed. Worthless trees should be completely discarded. For example, in the forest, those useless trees are discarded because they are of no use, just like this body, which is inherently empty, devoid of consciousness, does not move at the time of death, and will fall in the direction of the cemetery. Some consider it like a burnt piece of wood. Holding it with painful palms, offering it with fragrance and pollen, this comfortable body is completely left in the cemetery like a burnt piece of wood. Fierce beasts greedily destroy the eyes, skin, and nostrils with their power. The evil nature is unstable, and the world is like an illusion. Some consider it like a field. As it is said: No matter how you sow, the blessed one will obtain a bountiful harvest. If there is no merit, it will be destroyed by hail, and not even a burnt piece of wood will be obtained. Therefore, this body ultimately belongs to the cemetery, and these words were spoken to abandon attachment to it. Therefore, this body certainly belongs to the cemetery. Even if it is alive, the wise consider it useless, so they said "constantly" and so on. Seeing a leper constantly oozing liquid from wounds, abandoned by relatives and doctors, and thrown at the crossroads. The Buddha said to the monks: Monks, this person is full of many faults, the body is in vain, and it is repulsive. The Buddha spoke extensively about these things. A monk said to the Buddha: Venerable, this body is very repulsive, very despicable, like a pile of rags. Monks, it is indeed so. It is indeed so, and so on. Two verses were spoken. Because if we are to observe these beings, they are mostly attached to this body, which is impure, painful, and impermanent. So, by what means can we demonstrate here the antidote to the inverted views of impurity, pleasure, and permanence?

Ground, is the meaning of summarizing. Or, it is the meaning of revealing praise and disparagement, etc. What is said, "What is wrong with discarding," etc., are words of disparagement and contempt. "This" refers to grasping. Saying "should be disparaged" and saying "body," refers to the body that accumulates filthy substances, meaning "this body is useless, what is the use of it?" In its special way, it states the reason for disparagement, that is, saying "uncleanliness overflows," meaning it arises and overflows, and various unclean things constantly flow out from the nine orifices. "This" has uncleanness and stench, that is, unclean things, which produce disgusting stench and extremely corrupt odor. These two verses show the variation of color and odor. Saying that it has other properties and is the cause of arising, that is, saying "often troubled by diseases," meaning it often causes pain, that is, troubled by diseases such as hunger, thirst, cold, heat, and diarrhea. Saying "threatened by old age and death," means to be destroyed because of fear of old age and death, that is, to always worry about old age and death. Therefore, old age will make all abilities lose, and death will cut off the same kind, and often bring harm, so this body is incomplete. In order to dispel the inverted thought, this verse is said. If it is thought that this body is useless and should be discarded, in order to dispel this idea, "quickly" etc. are said. Although it has many faults and is the basis of shaking, it should be praised here in order to help obtain liberation, this is the meaning of summarizing. "With this" refers to grasping. "Or" refers to acting in desire. "Having pus" refers to the body composed of unclean substances. "Quickly destroyed" means having the nature of destruction, which shows impermanence. "Disease" means being troubled by disease, so it is suppressed.

The meaning of the word 'sa' is this. This indicates the nature of suffering. Here, impurity indicates the fault of the characteristic of the body's nature. Impermanence and the nature of suffering indicate the fault of the common characteristic. The phrase 'strive to attain' means to understand subsequently, that is, to contemplate and fully understand. So, what is to be striven for with strength? It is said, 'supreme peace' is mentioned, which means that the impure body and so on do not exist there, that is, it refers to the eternal nirvana, the realm of nirvana without remainder, mainly the pacification of suffering. The terms 'accomplishment and bliss' mean that it is established by its very nature as permanent, so there is no establishment. It is unsurpassed because there is no suffering. Alternatively, accomplishment and bliss are accomplishment and bliss. Since there is no separation in nirvana, accomplishment is because it is eternally blissful. Because it is virtuous, it is bliss, that is, because it is free from all suffering. The term 'unsurpassed' means that all things are surpassed, but liberation is unsurpassed, because it is eternally virtuous. It is also said: Permanence is not virtue; the mind of space is the preventer. Faith and so on are impermanent virtues; liberation from the two is unsurpassed. So it is said. By completely cutting off all afflictions and near afflictions, it is nirvana with remainder, that is, supreme peace. Others say that the realm of nirvana without remainder, having permanently abandoned all conditioned phenomena, is accomplishment and bliss unsurpassed. Others say that the enlightenment of the Hearers and Solitary Buddhas and non-abiding nirvana are divided into three, and the three, peace, accomplishment, and unsurpassed bliss, are combined in order. These were spoken to point out the faults and virtues to those who rejoice in the body and those who fear nirvana. Because in order to attain such liberation, one should strive to cultivate these, and to show that one should not trust others, it is said, 'winter and' and so on. Shravasti.
