How is it proven? Therefore, it is said: People's attachment to self, just as they know suffering firsthand, cannot know that the gods have no suffering, because nothing is eternally existent. Like this, if it exists, then all conditioned phenomena are born from aggregation, therefore they exist. The past and the future are also tormented by birth and so on, and it shows that they are close to destruction. If it is so close to torment, how can we not understand it? The answer is, saying "entering" means understanding. Where to understand? The answer is, saying "darkness" means ignorance. It is also said: The world can be seen, how can it create obstacles? Like the darkness of ignorance, that is what is said when seeing. It is the basis of all poverty, other than that it is self-born. It is the cause of wisdom, perfection, and everything, like a wish-fulfilling jewel. What are these? The answer is, saying "those who exist" means you, because you are ordinary people, so you become the place of all aggregates, that is the meaning of ordinary people. In this regard, this shows that: from having ignorance, karma arises, and from that arises suffering. Reversely stopping suffering is through seeing reality and joy, entering into wisdom. It means that the method of obtaining the bliss of liberation is also the noble path led by right view. To enter into it, it is said: The lamp is light, because the light of the noble path, and words such as faith and diligence are spoken here. It is said: Firm belief in the Dharma is light, this is said metaphorically. Faith enables one to cross the ocean of samsara, and diligence enables one to abandon suffering, this is explained metaphorically. Just as when a lamp appears in the external darkness, it can eliminate the darkness, so too the darkness of ignorance can be eliminated by the noble path.

That. Therefore, because of the similarity, it is a lamp like a lamp. Saying "Why not seek" means that not seeking is because of how to realize it, meaning to strive to accomplish it. The Blessed One here urges sentient beings with three kinds of faults, namely the faults of carelessness, nature, and obscuration. These sentient beings abide in happiness in manifestly seeking happiness, like experiencing happiness, they are all happy and satisfied with the objects, these are the faults of carelessness. Wherever, all those things that manifestly rejoice are the fire of afflictions and the fire of suffering burning fiercely, this is the fault of nature. They also enter into the darkness of ignorance, not seeking the lamp of uncontaminated wisdom, this is the fault of obscuration. Therefore, the Blessed One spoke this verse in order to dispel the three faults. How the fire of impermanence blazes fiercely, showing "what is the thing of oneself," in order to understand it, knowing that this behavior will bring harm, in order to achieve without diligence, so it is said "bones like the color of conch shell" and so on. The origin of this story is that in Shravasti, the newly ordained monks were particularly attached to bathing, clothes, and decorations, etc., because they were particularly attached to the body, they completely abandoned lightning and Laton, etc. When the Blessed One went to the charnel ground and practiced in order to arouse renunciation in them. At that time, there were five hundred thieves who were killed and their corpses were abandoned there, the Blessed One showed them those corpses and said, "Monks, look! These corpses are very scary, be content with samsara! Even if you enjoy the enjoyment of samsara, you must be content!" When the Blessed One said this, they attained the fruit of Arhat. Others say that this was said to five hundred monks with obvious pride. In this regard, impermanence is also explained here in five ways.
