For that reason, the collection of disputes is shown after that. Or, gain and respect are mud and thorns. A god requested the Bhagavan, saying, "In the world, there are four kinds of people. If these four kinds of people obtain it, what is the great fortune? Please tell me the answer to this question." And so on. Striking others, one obtains striking. And so on, it was said. A god strikes others, striking with sticks and weapons, etc., in various ways. Through striking, in most cases, one also obtains striking oneself, that is, being robbed of enjoyment and livelihood. Here, the tangible heart and Ajatashatru can also be spoken of to each other. After showing the fault of physical harm, the harm of speech is spoken. Holding a grudge is holding a grudge, and whoever is associated with hatred is a grudge-holder, meaning that using abusive words and exposing shortcomings, etc., causes resentment to arise in the continuum of others. That grudge-holder sees the grudge-holder, that is, generates experience. Just as in those situations, holding a grudge against others, similarly, others will also hold a grudge in their hearts, like the Six Groups of Monks. Similarly, abuse brings abuse. It means that speaking harsh words is abuse. Whoever speaks that is abuse, and after abuse, one will also receive abuse from others, like Kashyapa and so on. Being angry with others, anger arises. It means that if someone is angry with others, the bad behavior of the angry person will also come again, like Nanda and so on. Here, four kinds of Dharma practitioners are shown, in order, one should not retaliate against striking, one should not retaliate against exposing shortcomings, one should not retaliate against abuse, and one should not retaliate against anger, otherwise one will obtain harm. In order to show that all disputes arise from the continuum of not understanding, here it says "the practitioner other than this" and so on. Starting with the monks of Kaushambi, the monks in the past, the Brahma King of Kashi...

And called 'In', and King of Kosala called Dirghila became discordant with each other. Widely, this comes from the Dirghila Sutra and the Madhyama Agama. As it says there: 'In any case, the Blessed One said so, even so, we can do it.' From this sentence, twelve verses were spoken. Among them, it speaks of the bonds and grudges of children: 'This is other', which means without hearing. Combine the word 'Dharma' with this. Not having heard the true Dharma, one is primarily associated with resentment, not others, that is the meaning. 'This is other' is not for the sake of others, not having heard is not listening. Not thinking and not meditating, etc., also exist, so here the word 'etc.' is used to express it. So, who is it that resents so much? It is called 'child'. The characteristic of a child is not being clever, that is, not understanding. What is that? It is not understanding the truth of things, even for what is called 'true Dharma', one will follow. The decline of hearing and the thorough examination of not hearing are also because of not understanding. Because one does not understand the true Dharma in this way, that is why one does it. Whoever realizes it, will never act with the present behavior. The reason for saying 'child' is also because there is no knowledge obtained through wisdom. Because there is no correct realization, that is, no knowledge obtained from others. If one is very long-lived, therefore one will become arrogant with the pride of life, thus generating resentment, then, it is said 'For this completely short-lived one.' 'For this' means that even if life exists for a very short time in a completely manifest way, foolish people will generate resentment. 'Because of' means that together with other beings, just because of a moment's cause of uproar, it will bind me. In order to show that the result of resentment is fighting, etc., which arises from not hearing and not understanding, therefore it is said 'This is supreme' etc. 'Speaking separately' means having different voices, that is speaking separately.

This refers to the act of using harsh words that are discordant with each other in various ways. To enter harmoniously means to enter together, that is, where one wants to fight, where one wants to refute, and where one enters into confusion by being neither too fast nor too slow. Those fights will quickly subside, and not otherwise. What are these fights like? Monks, some of you will say something like this: 'This is the best,' thinking in this way. If this is done by another party, then it is not the best, and in this way, they think with mutual attachment, that is, calculating, and especially the meaning of liberation. It is taught thus: If it is only you, how can you speak separately for your own side and not enter harmoniously, wherever you think in that way? It is said: 'When you yourselves split the Sangha.' This is said. This means 'for what reason?' Wherever the Tathagata
