There are four types, starting from "greed is the knot of the body," and so on. Others say that it started from a naked heretic listener asking, "Venerable, by what can all desires be abandoned?" There are three samādhis: emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness. This refers to these three numbers. "Mindfully attending" means extreme attachment and clinging. By its power, in order to abandon all bonds, as it says in the "Vajra-like Samādhi Sutra." Or, there are three: with investigation and with analysis, and so on. Born from solitude, immeasurables should be cultivated. This explains the result of cultivating samādhi, that by properly relying on it, one can obtain qualities such as the immeasurables. Having arisen disgust from the inferior grounds, then one should cultivate the immeasurables such as love, because it is obtained through the power of samādhi. Or, one should rely on it. The immeasurables arise in dependence on sentient beings, because they arise from immeasurable merit and are the result of immeasurable desire. What is said as love, compassion, joy, and equanimity are called the terms of the four immeasurables because they are the antidotes to harmful intent, delight in harming, attachment to desire, and harmful intent. Having generally taught the worldly and transworldly paths, in order to differentiate the distinctions of the transworldly path, the so-called three abodes are mentioned. These three realms are the abode and support of sentient beings. Others consider them to be the three lower realms, because that is the pus-like abode of ordinary beings, and it has been abandoned far away by the path of seeing. By these three, thoroughly tear apart the three abodes. "Tearing apart the three abodes" refers to the three samādhis mentioned earlier. Because they become antidotes, just as a vajra destroys and grinds a great mountain, thereby abandoning them. Mentioning three is to distinguish the immeasurables. Because they are the basis and are merely objects of mindfulness. By mindfully attending to it, one abandons afflictions.

Or the three are the aggregates of morality, samadhi, and wisdom, and the three aggregates of the noble path. Thus, the yogi who has entered correctly is the one to be pacified, which means to be completely abandoned. A knot is an affliction and a near affliction that binds, because it binds oneself, so these knots are subtle and increasing, because the scriptures say that this is the root of samsara. This shows the practice of the path of meditation, showing the path of no learning. Because it protects certainty, it is enlightenment and wisdom, because it can completely protect oneself and others. This shows that it is endowed with mindfulness. Because definite thinking comes first, it is cautious, and others say that it is definite thinking. The so-called mindfulness is the arising of mindfulness, and the constant closeness of mindfulness and mindfulness, as it is said: Constantly abide in the six, what are the six? That is, when the eye sees form, the mind does not become pleasant, and the mind is not unpleasant, and abiding in equanimity is called mindfulness and awareness, etc. In order to show that abandoning the three realms or the quiescence of knots is to reach the other shore, not to cross the ocean, therefore, two verses of wisdom weapons, etc., are spoken. There are three kinds of weapons, namely the weapon of hearing and the weapon of wisdom, etc., as it is said in the scriptures. Among them, the weapon of wisdom, here, the collection of wisdom, hearing is said to be wisdom, because it destroys latent tendencies like a weapon. Diligence and strength, etc., show the weapon of solitude. Worldly birth, etc., show the weapon of wisdom. Complete liberation from everything, etc., is its result, this is the meaning of the summary. Venerable one has reached the other shore, so he is called a bhikkhu, if so, in what way can one reach the other shore? Others say that this is said from that aspect. Here, the meaning is widely explained, for whoever has the weapon of wisdom that determines suchness with wisdom, that is the wisdom weapon. For example

Just as in times of war, weapons are used to defeat the enemy's forces, similarly, the wisdom that comes from diligent practice can cut off afflictions. The sutras say that wisdom cuts off afflictions. What is called the power of diligence is the four right abandonments. These are like the four limbs of an army. The noble Shravakas who possess the power of diligence will abandon non-virtuous deeds. To be endowed with this is to attain, meaning to be perfect. What is called abiding is single-pointedness of mind, which cuts off distractions and enables diligent effort. What is called delight in samadhi is to have a fondness for it. If faith arises and conviction is attained, then one will practice samadhi. Or, delight is tasting the flavor, therefore one will make the practice of samadhi supreme. What is called mindfulness is having mindfulness. Here, the limbs of the noble path, the power of the five faculties, are shown, and the noble path is explained. "Having understood the arising and ceasing of the world" refers to understanding the arising and ceasing of the aggregates of appropriation with uncontaminated wisdom, which is related to being called having gone to the other shore. How is it known? It is said, "That is knowledge," which is to be able to know, just as having eyes enables one to see. Here, the perfection of wisdom is shown. What is called "completely liberated from all" refers to being completely liberated from all subtle bonds and their roots. Here, the perfection of abandonment is shown. What is called "the edge of the world" refers to the edge of samsara. What is called "well understood" refers to fully understanding without error. Here, nirvana with remainder is shown. After that, in order to show that only by knowing suchness will one be liberated from the edge of the world, and not otherwise, it is said, "Having reached the edge of the world," entering nirvana without remainder is called having gone to the other shore. This is because one has crossed the ocean of all conditioned phenomena. Also,
