Non-harming is like this. That is going to the immortal place, wherever one goes, there is no sorrow. Because one always guards one's speech, the victor is non-harming. That is going to the immortal place, wherever one goes, there is no sorrow. Because one always guards one's mind, the victor is non-harming. That is going to the immortal place, wherever one goes, there is no sorrow. The steadfast ones guard the body, the steadfast ones also guard the speech, the steadfast ones guard the mind, if the steadfast ones guard in all places, then they go to the immortal place, wherever they go, there is no sorrow. The discipline of the body is good, the discipline of speech is good, the discipline of the mind is also good, in short, the discipline in all places is good. The monk who is completely disciplined is liberated from all suffering. Guard your speech, guard your mind well, and do not practice unwholesome deeds with your body. If you cultivate these three paths of action, you will attain the path spoken by the sages. This is the seventh chapter, the chapter on good conduct. Those who say they have not done what they have done, and those who lie, will go to hell. Those two people are similar after death, and they will have inferior Dharma in the next life. If a person speaks evil words from his mouth, it is like a language axe has grown and will cut himself. If someone praises someone who should be criticized, and criticizes someone who should be praised, that person stirs up strife with his mouth, and whoever stirs up strife will not obtain happiness. If someone loses their wealth here by gambling, that strife is only a small part. If someone has hatred in their mind towards the Sugata, then the strife here is very great. If one relies on speech and mind and commits sins that are condemned by the noble ones, then in the hells with millions of blisters and the hells with thousands of blisters, and in the forty-one hells where the blisters burst, beings will go to those hells. With a sinful mind, accusing others of faults without reason, this will only increase hell to kill oneself. Those with strength will tolerate faults and not be angry about them. The foolish who rely on the views of sinners abandon the noble ones, abandon the Arhats who live by the Dharma, and abandon the teachings.

Like bamboo bearing fruit, It is killed by its own fruit. One should only speak good words, One should not speak sinful words. Rather than speaking to torment the sinful, It is better to speak good words. A child speaking sinful words, At the time of speaking will be bound, If speaking, others abandon. Those are not spoken by the noble ones. Monks are disciplined, Speaking gently and without arrogance. Whoever explains the meaning with Dharma, That is pleasant speech. The noble ones say that good speech is supreme. Pleasant speech that is not unpleasant is the second, Speaking truthfully and not falsely is the third, Speaking Dharma and not vulgarly is the fourth. Those words should be spoken, Which do not harm oneself, And do not harm others. Those words should be spoken well. By what is joy manifested, By what does sin not arise, Speaking what makes others happy, One should only speak pleasant words. True words are nectar, True words are supreme. Firmly abiding in meaning and Dharma, The holy ones say it is truth. For the sake of abandoning all suffering, The words spoken from the Buddha's state, True words lead to Nirvana, Those words are unsurpassed. The eighth chapter on words. Having transcended from one Dharma, Destroying the other world, Beings, because of lying, There is no sin that is not committed. An iron ball like a burning flame, It is far better to have eaten it. An immoral person who does not guard well, Should not eat alms from the land. You are afraid of suffering, If you do not like suffering, Whether in the open or in secret, Do not do sinful deeds. If you have done sinful deeds, Or even if you will do them, you, Even if you rise up and flee, You will not escape from suffering. There is no place where one can abide and not be overtaken by karma, That place does not exist, Not in the sky, not in the ocean, Not even by entering the mountains. Having considered others, Seeing the deeds of the sinful, Those I should not do, After doing sin, it follows. Whatever deeds are extremely unpleasant, Deceitful, pretending to be different, etc., And harming others,
