Now having obtained, the capable one strives for direct knowledge, thoroughly knowing the ultimate end of suffering, I declare that one to be a Brahmin. Knowing the liberation of the mind, and being liberated from all desires, possessing the three knowledges, I declare that one to be a Brahmin. Whoever understands the death and transmigration of sentient beings and all births, the Buddha with unobstructed vision, I declare that one to be a Brahmin. Whoever has transcended all bonds, is completely without sorrow, the teacher without joy, mindful, I declare that one to be a Brahmin. The capable victorious great sage, the supreme of the herd, the most excellent, the elephant, the stainless, bathed Buddha, I declare that one to be a Brahmin. Whoever subdues all existence and non-existence, crosses the river and guides perfectly, reaches the other shore of liberation, I declare that one to be a Brahmin. Not thinking of evil deeds, not meditating, not speaking, abiding and the mind free from dust, I declare that one to be a Brahmin. Whoever holds a fly-whisk in hand, knows shame and does not look at desires, dwells under the trees, I declare that one to be a Brahmin. Whoever, for the sake of abandoning all suffering, cultivates the eight branches of the peaceful noble path, the upright one, I declare that one to be a Brahmin. Whoever has no small dwelling place, no perception, doubt, or affliction, has attained the state of immortality, I declare that one to be a Brahmin. Whoever, without a body, dwells in a cave, wanders alone and goes far away, subduing the mind that delights in being tamed, I declare that one to be a Brahmin. Whoever is formless, invisible, and infinite, extremely difficult to see, subtle, and directly realizes the ground, constantly remembers the Buddha who is the cause of the exhaustion of all bonds, in this world, that one is a Brahmin. Whoever has cut the yoke of bondage, has cut off the distant ties, the Buddha who is completely free from sorrow, I declare that one to be a Brahmin. Whoever has cut off the desire for gain, evil deeds, and the yoke of bondage, has uprooted craving with its roots, I declare that one to be a Brahmin. By diligence, cutting off the stream of the river, completely destroying all desires, knowing the exhaustion of all actions, whoever is without sin is a Brahmin. Having killed father and mother, as well as the king, performing two purifications

He who has destroyed the country and all its dependencies, that one without sin is a Brahmin. Having killed father and mother, two kings with purity, and a repulsive tiger, that one without sin is a Brahmin. Whoever strikes a Brahmin is foolish, to expel them is evil, so do not strike Brahmins, nor expel Brahmins. Whoever fully understands the dharmas, whether old or young, should be respected and worshipped, for the pure Brahmin is like a fire. Whoever fully understands the dharmas, whether old or young, should be respected and served, for the pure Brahmin is like a fire. Whoever fully understands the dharmas taught by the perfectly enlightened Buddha, should be respected and worshipped, for the pure Brahmin is like a fire. Whoever fully understands the dharmas taught by the perfectly enlightened Buddha, should be respected and served, for the pure Brahmin is like a fire. When a Brahmin has gone to the far shore of the dharmas, then he far surpasses even the sole meat-eater Kula. When a Brahmin has gone to the far shore of the dharmas, then all that he sees and feels will cease. When a Brahmin has gone to the far shore of the dharmas, then all the conditions he sees will cease. When a Brahmin has gone to the far shore of the dharmas, then all the bonds he sees will cease. When a Brahmin has gone to the far shore of the dharmas, then he has far surpassed birth, old age, and death. The sun shines brightly during the day, the moon shines at night, the Kshatriya shines when clad in armor, the Brahmin shines when meditating. The sun shines brightly during the day, the moon shines at night, the Buddha, always radiant, shines day and night. Just as there is aversion from unpleasant things, Brahmins have no such aversion at all. However much his mind turns away, that much is merely conventional truth. When a Brahmin meditates with diligence, he who fully understands the dharmas with their causes, will completely arise from these dharmas, then his shramana-nature will abandon the body. When a Brahmin meditates with diligence,
