Complete with the vows of discipline, knowing shame and speaking the truth. In one's own actions, Making all others happy. In one's own interests, Thus making others happy, Praise in this life, and a good rebirth in the next. Speaking words of generosity, turning away from actions that violate national customs, Making the noble ones happy, the non-noble ones do not rejoice. Therefore, the superior and the non-superior, when death and separation occur, the non-noble go to hell, the noble go to heaven. The fifth heap of suffering. Being praised and obtaining wealth, rejoicing in a good rebirth in the next life, For those who seek the meaning of these three pleasures, the wise should protect the vows of discipline. The noble and the perfection of sight, and the peace of the world becoming the basis, Seeing these other places, the wise should protect the vows of discipline. Without any suffering in the body, one obtains happiness through discipline. Sleeping peacefully at night, and rejoicing when waking up. Giving to those who possess discipline, through the merit made by the wise, In this and other worlds, one always obtains happiness. Discipline is good even in old age, it is good to abide greatly in faith. The jewel of humans is wisdom, which is difficult to be taken away by great merit. A monk abiding in discipline, also subduing the senses, Knowing the measure of food, and striving not to sleep, Thus striving to abide, not being idle day and night, For the sake of being close to Nirvana, complete degeneration is impossible. If a person abides in discipline, cultivating mind and wisdom, A diligent and steadfast monk will attain the end of suffering. Therefore, always in discipline, and following the protection of meditation, Cultivating higher vision, being mindful and remembering each individually. Having exhausted all afflictions, becoming without desire and without remainder, When the body is destroyed, the wise one attains immeasurable Nirvana. Whoever cultivates well these three: discipline, meditation, and wisdom, Extremely immaculate and reaching the end, without suffering, the cycle of rebirth will end, Liberated from the bonds of attachment, abandoning the body

Those who possess excellent grounds, who have transcended the realm of Mara, blaze brightly like the sun. Monks who are outwardly and inwardly negligent and arrogant, their discipline, concentration, and wisdom will not be fully perfected. Rain falls from what is covered by clouds, but rain does not fall from a clear sky. Therefore, remove the covering, and in this way, rain will not fall. Thus, constantly seeing, monks, through the vows of discipline, the path to Nirvana is quickly and completely pacified. The scent of flowers does not travel against the wind, nor do the roots of saffron and sandalwood. The scent of the noble travels not against the wind; the scent of the best of humans pervades all directions. Saffron and sandalwood, blue lotus and jasmine, among these kinds of scents, the scent of discipline is the most excellent. Whatever the scent of saffron and sandalwood may be, this is small. The scent of the disciplined pervades this world and the heavens. Thus, abiding in mindfulness, discipline is completely purified. With true wisdom, liberation is attained, and the path of Mara cannot be found. This is the path to happiness; on this path of purification, having entered well and meditated, abandon the bonds of Mara. The sixth chapter is the chapter on discipline. Abandon misconduct of the body, and for the sake of practicing good conduct of the body, if you guard against great evils of the body, then the body becomes tamed. Abandon misconduct of speech, and for the sake of practicing good conduct of speech, if you guard against great evils of speech, then speech becomes tamed. Abandon misconduct of mind, and for the sake of practicing good conduct of mind, if you guard against great evils of mind, then the mind becomes tamed. Abandon misconduct of body, abandon misconduct of speech, abandon misconduct of mind, and abandon whatever possesses other faults. All good deeds of body should be done, many good deeds of speech should be done, all good deeds of mind should be done, and one should possess the four immeasurables. All good deeds of body should be done, and if done with speech and mind, then in this world and the next, one will always attain happiness. Because the body is always tamed,
