That. For beings, strong attachment arises in the minds of beings, look at how that tiny existence disappears. Realizing the merit of beings having nothing, it is happiness for beings to have nothing. For beings, strong attachment arises in the bodies of beings, look at how that tiny existence disappears. Being controlled by others is all suffering, having autonomy is all happiness. The union that is extremely difficult to abandon, disappears completely due to being common. Among people who are attached, dwelling in a state of non-attachment, in attachment there is no attachment, alas! Truly living very happily. Among people afflicted by disease, dwelling in a state of no disease, in the sick there is no disease, alas! Truly living very happily. Among people who are harmful, dwelling in a state of no harm, in harm there is no harm, alas! Truly living very happily. Among people who have harmful intentions, dwelling in a state of no harmful intentions, among people who have harmful intentions there is no harmful intention, alas! Truly living very happily. Among people who have hatred, dwelling in a state of no hatred, among people who have hatred there is no hatred, alas! Truly living very happily. Even if the people of Mithila (Sanskrit: Mithilā, name of an ancient Indian city) completely burn, there is nothing that burns for me. Because I have nothing, alas! Truly living very happily. Although I have nothing, I eat joy, like a god of light, alas! Truly living very happily. Because I do not rely on the perishable aggregates (five skandhas), although I have nothing, I eat joy, alas! Truly living very happily. Meeting and touching with the ornament of acceptance, because there is no acceptance, meeting with what there is no touch. The happiness and suffering generated by me and others, will not touch in a quiet place or a village. In this world, happiness and suffering, will not make noble people high or low, steadfast ones will not waver due to the cause of desire, noble people act universally. This is the collection of happiness, the thirtieth (verse). A chapter specifically spoken. The fourth volume, which is the last. Difficult to grasp and light, wherever one likes to go, taming one's mind is the best, taming one's mind brings happiness. Abandoning the basis of demons, completely taken out from the river, like a fish thrown on dry land, my mind is completely shaken. Like rays of light from the sun, my

The mind wanders separately; the wise surely restrain it, like an elephant controlled with a hook. Because my actions are meaningless and without essence to behold, I speak of that mind in order to always tame it. This mind, in the past, went wherever it pleased, enjoying itself and wandering about. Like a man controlling a drunken elephant with a hook, it is seized by acting properly. This builder of houses is the cause of suffering from repeated births. You have now created many cycles of birth. Having seen the house builder, I have destroyed the great beam of the house, and shattered all the rafters. Hereafter, the house builder will not build again. Separating the mind from actions, one desires cessation in this very life. The mind is fickle and deceitful, going far and difficult to restrain. Just as a skilled arrow-maker straightens an arrow with fire, so should the mind be straightened by a disciplined mind. Whoever tames the mind that is bodiless, dwells in a cave, wanders alone, and goes far, will be freed from great fear. With whatever wrongly directed mind one causes suffering to oneself, not even an enemy to an enemy, nor a foe to a foe, would do so much. With whatever rightly directed mind one causes happiness to oneself, not even a father, a mother, or other relatives would do so much. Just as when a roof is poorly covered, rain completely leaks in, so too, if the mind is not cultivated, it is completely overcome by desires. Just as when a roof is well covered, rain does not leak in, so too, a mind that is well cultivated is not overcome by desires. Just as when a roof is poorly covered, rain completely leaks in, so too, if the mind is not cultivated, it is completely overcome by hatred. Just as when a roof is well covered, rain does not leak in, so too, a mind that is well cultivated is not overcome by hatred. Just as when a roof is poorly covered, rain completely leaks in, so too, if the mind is not cultivated, it is completely overcome by delusion. Just as when a roof is well covered, rain does not leak in, so too, a mind that is well cultivated is not overcome by delusion.
