If one acts with false discriminations, then he will obtain cherished things. Here, those who are prejudiced towards seeing and hearing, and the newly formed covenants also grow day by day. They run, go, and stay in samsara, like moths falling into the fire. To feel here, or to make others feel, here all kinds of doubts arise differently. They diligently practice pure conduct, strive hard, and abandon all with mindfulness. If someone is stained with defilements, yet wears the kasaya robe, neither tamed nor virtuous, then he should not wear the kasaya robe. If someone has abandoned defilements, well maintains the precepts, and is endowed with taming and virtue, then he should wear the kasaya robe. A person with deceit and stinginess, merely by appearance and beauty, or eloquent speech, cannot be regarded as a great man. If someone, like cutting off the head of a tala tree, cuts off these three faults, and is endowed with wisdom, then he can be called a great man. In this world, those who have not been well tamed mostly deceive with the appearance of being well tamed. Without careful examination, do not easily trust others by seeing their appearance several times. Just as it is inappropriate to plate copper with gold, or to half cover iron with gold, a person with a treacherous heart, with the appearance of solemnity, walks with his retinue in this world. If someone is greedy for sleep, indulges in sleep, and turns and lies down day and night, like a pig fattening in a dung pit, then he will repeatedly fall into a despicable womb. If a person is always mindful and knows the moderation of food, then his suffering will be reduced, and he can sleep peacefully, and his life will be prolonged. If a person cannot tame the senses, does not know the moderation of food, is unmindful and lazy, and dwells considering himself pure, then he will be destroyed by desires, like a tree swaying in the wind. If a person can well tame the senses, knows the moderation of food, is clearly mindful and diligent, and dwells with impure contemplation, then he will not be destroyed by desires, like a mountain that does not move in the wind. A solitary place should be pleasing, but most people do not like it, but in that place, those who are free from desire are pleased.

Not those who seek dwellings. Whether it be a monastery or a village, Whether it be a valley or a plain, Wherever the noble one resides, That place is pleasing. The holy one appears from afar, Like the mountains of the snowy land. The wicked one, even near, does not appear, Like an arrow shot in the darkness. The wise who contemplate meaning, If they associate with the holy one, Great meaning will arise, and profound, Wisdom will be individually realized. Like an elephant struck by an arrow from a bow, On the battlefield, One must endure the unpleasant words Spoken by many immoral people. Whoever breaks into homes, Lacks faith and is ungrateful, Destroys opportunities and eats vomit, That is a holy person. Having killed one's parents, And two pure kings, Destroying the land and its retinue, It is said that a person becomes pure. Those who are everywhere and have nothing, Those who fully understand food, Those who are without emptiness and signs, And whose realm of activity is solitude. Their going is difficult to comprehend, Like the tracks of birds in the sky. Those who are everywhere and have nothing, Those who fully understand food, Those who are without emptiness and signs, And whose realm of activity is solitude. Their tracks are difficult to trace, Like the tracks of birds in the sky. Those who are everywhere and have nothing, Those who fully understand food, Those who are without emptiness and signs, And whose realm of activity is always meditation.
