Such is the end of suffering. The body is destroyed, and feelings are cooled. Consciousness ceases, and formations are pacified. Consciousness is completely extinguished. Such is the end of suffering. Merely what is seen by sight, merely what is heard by hearing, merely what is cognized by cognition, merely what is distinguished by consciousness. Such is the end of suffering. This and not this, extreme grief. Such is the end of suffering. Without desire, without joy, completely tranquil, completely free from attachment. Such is the end of suffering. With dependence, there will be action. With action, there will be attachment. With attachment, there will be great untamedness. With great untamedness, there will be going and coming. With going and coming, there will be taking death and rebirth in another life. Having taken death and rebirth in another life, there will be birth, aging, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, suffering, displeasure, and turmoil in another life, and thus this great mass of suffering will arise. Without dependence, there will be no action. Without action, there will be no attachment. Without attachment, there will be great tamedness. With great tamedness, there will be no going and coming. Without going and coming, there will be no taking death and rebirth in another life. Without taking death and rebirth in another life, birth, aging, sickness, death, sorrow, lamentation, suffering, displeasure, and turmoil will cease in another life. Thus, this great mass of suffering will cease. Monks, there is the unborn, the unoriginated, the unmade, the unconditioned, the unbecome. There is birth, origination, the made, the mind-made, the conditioned, dependent origination. Monks, if there were no unborn, unoriginated, unmade, unconditioned, unbecome, then there would be the definite arising of birth, origination, the made, the conditioned, the mind-made, dependent origination, it is said.
