I am the fault. Therefore, giving to those who are free from hatred will become a great fruit. Just as the fault of a field is weeds, the fault of beings in this regard is ignorance. Therefore, giving to those who are free from ignorance will become a great fruit. Just as the fault of a field is weeds, the fault of beings in this regard is pride. Therefore, giving to those who are free from pride will become a great fruit. Just as the fault of a field is weeds, the fault of beings in this regard is attachment. Therefore, giving to those who are free from attachment will become a great fruit. Just as the fault of a field is weeds, the fault of beings in this regard is craving. Therefore, giving to those who are free from craving will become a great fruit. The sixth is the master king, if attached, he becomes attached, if not attached, he is unattached, attachment is called a child. Desire, hatred, and pride, and where concealment resides, is a city with bone walls, smeared and decorated with flesh and blood, a source of suffering arising from causes and conditions. If these are not seen, one will be bound by them, if these are recognized, one will completely abandon the rivers. For outsiders, there is no abandonment of these attachments. A collection of fragments, the sixteenth chapter. Those who do not delight in home, with mindfulness and effort, just as swans abandon bad lakes, they abandon home and cross the river. The steadfast, having arisen from निश्चित (Sanskrit Devanagari: Nirveda, Sanskrit Romanization: nirveda, Chinese literal meaning: aversion) in the world, having completely destroyed the hosts of demons, just as swans fly from the path of the sun, they go in the sky by means of miraculous powers. Not having practiced celibacy, not having acquired wealth in youth, on the shores of bad lakes with few fish, one becomes like an old heron, worried. Not having practiced celibacy, not having acquired wealth in youth, remembering what was done in the past, one shrinks the body and sleeps. Do not despise the small sins you have done, do not think that it will not bring consequences. Just as a large pot is filled by falling drops of water, by accumulating small sins, the fool will be filled with sin. Do not despise the small virtues you have done, do not think that it will not bring consequences, just as a large pot is filled by falling drops of water, by accumulating small virtues, the steadfast will be filled with virtue. Those who want to destroy the rough embankment, abandon the bad lake, and cross the ocean river,

The raft has been prepared, the wise can cross over. Having crossed over, the Blessed One, the Buddha, the Brahmin dwells on dry land. To this, the monks bathe, and the hearers have also prepared the raft. Just as the great sea is deep, extremely vast and without defilement. Likewise, the most excellent wise ones, listen to this Dharma. Since there is water everywhere, who would seek and wander? Why would one need well water? Cut off the root of craving. The smelters wash with water, the arrow makers straighten with fire, the carpenters adjust and train on wood. The wise should tame themselves. Like the sky, without attachment, like a door bolt, without wavering. Like a turbid sea, the wise do not delight in samsara. The collection of waters, the seventeenth chapter. This world, together with the gods and Yama, who can conquer on earth? Who is skilled at teaching the four dharmas, which are as desirable as flowers? This world, together with the gods and Yama, the learner conquers on earth. Who is skilled at teaching the four dharmas, which are as desirable as flowers. Because fear arises from the forest, one should cut down the forest, but not the trees. Cut down the forest and the connection to the forest, and the ascetic will attain Nirvana. If the connection to the forest is not cut off, even the smallest things will cause people to grow. Like a calf desiring its mother's milk, it binds the mind tightly. Like plucking an autumn lotus with one's hand, having cut off affection for oneself, in order to attain the Nirvana spoken of by the Victorious One, cultivate the path of peace. Just as a flower is pleasing, the color is beautiful but without fragrance. Likewise, well-spoken words, do not let them be without fruit. Just as a bee does not harm the color and fragrance of a flower, but sips the nectar and flies away. Likewise, the Thuba walks in the city. Do not look for the faults of others, nor what others have done or not done. One should examine whether one's own actions are reasonable. Like a pile of sweepings, without unclean water, a lotus opens, pure and fragrant, growing delightfully. Likewise, ordinary beings, from this blind pile of sweepings, the hearers of the fully enlightened Buddha, arise clear with wisdom. Like a flower
