And, stinginess is a similar cause of desire. Anger and jealousy arise from anger. Concealment is a similar cause of craving and ignorance. These ten defilements are also called near afflictions. The movement of what arises from the mind is subtle, and even its continuous flow cannot be distinguished, let alone moments. The nature of the Dharma spoken by the Bhagavan, those with wise minds can see the difference in its fruits, and therefore can understand it through other faultless proofs. But those with deluded intelligence who do not attend to and respect the teachers who expound the scriptures of the Sugata cannot understand it. There are three leaks: the leak of desire, the leak of existence, and the leak of ignorance. Among them, except for the ignorance that operates in the desire realm, the other afflictions belonging to the desire realm, together with all the forty-one dharmas that are bound together, are the leak of desire, that is, except for the five ignorances, the thirty-one subtle anusayas and the ten bonds. Except for the ignorance of the form and formless realms, the fifty-four dharmas that are bound together are the leak of existence, that is, the twenty-six subtle anusayas belonging to the form realm, and similarly those belonging to the formless realm, as well as sleep and agitation. Because they are not shown in the sutras, and because of similarity, inner contemplation, and samadhi ground, those born from the two realms are grouped into one category. The fifteen ignorances belonging to the three realms are the leak of ignorance. The three realms are established because they obstruct the transcendence of suffering, and because from the peak of existence to the Avici hell, they leak through the six sense bases, therefore they are leaks. There are four rivers: the river of desire, the river of existence, the river of views, and the river of ignorance. Among them, removing views from the leak of desire, twenty-nine dharmas are the river of desire. Removing views from the leak of existence, thirty dharmas are the river of craving. The thirty-six views belonging to the three realms are the river of views. Those that do not belong to these, views associated with other afflictions, and
