Fragrance is a pleasant smell. An unpleasant smell is a stench. Bad is evil, like calling someone a bad Brahmin. The opposite of both is an equal smell, which is neither a pleasant smell nor a stench, but an equal smell. The scriptures explain this meaning: a pleasant smell increases the great elements of the senses, and the great elements of the senses are the great elements of the senses. To increase them is synonymous with making them grow. What is incompatible with this is a stench. What is liberated from the causes of benefit and harm is an equal smell. These three aspects are recognized by the nose consciousness as their own characteristics. The mind consciousness recognizes both self and general characteristics. Taste has six distinctions: sweet, sour, salty, spicy, bitter, and astringent. Taste is what should be tasted, and tasting is what is called experience. Among these, sweet is sugar cane, etc. Spicy is ginger, etc. Sour is citron, etc. Bitter is neem, etc. Salty is salt, etc. Astringent is arura, etc. All of these are tongue consciousness, and what is guided by it is as before. One aspect of the tangible has seven types, that is, there are seven types, such as softness, etc. A soft object is softness itself, which is the cause of non-different objects, as it is said: all things appear as their own things. Roughness refers to, roughness refers to the great elements. Roughness that dwells in this, for example, lying on a mountain is called the mountain lying down. If that is the case, then all forms that are caused will become rough. There is no fault in this, even if the nature of one's own limbs has been shown, it can be expressed in other ways, such as seven leaves and eight steps. Its object is roughness itself. Heavy, light, and cold, etc., only appear as they are stated in the scriptures. When the elements gather, the greater proportion of water and fire is softness. A greater proportion refers to the remainder. The remainder is in the scriptures.

As it is said, it ends there. In the desire realm, everything exists. In the form realm, there is no hunger or thirst. Cold does not cause harm, but it is beneficial. Here, some argue that there is no other beneficial thing except for samadhi. If that is the case, since there is no other beneficial thing except for samadhi, there is no need for an immeasurable palace. It is also said that the flow of wind called "increasing" makes the whole body grow. Therefore, it is only the particularity of touch arising from samadhi that benefits the body. If there is something other than the form that is the cause, why is there no hunger or thirst? Because it is free from the desire for food eaten by the mouth. The dharma that is the cause of wanting food is hunger. The word for cause is hidden, for example, a king who mainly eats vegetables is called a vegetable king. Or, because the result is attributed to the cause, because it is the main thing to be spoken of, therefore hunger and thirst are not the nature of form. Among them, if the abdomen is always touched by the subtle particles of wind, one becomes hungry. If touched by fire, one becomes thirsty. Therefore, attributing the result to the cause, they are called hunger and thirst. As it is said: The Buddhas are the source of happiness. Like that. Because the objects of the senses are determined separately, the self-characteristic of the sense-sphere is the object, but the self-characteristic of matter is not the object. Therefore, touch also necessarily arises in five ways, namely the four great elements and any of the soft ones, etc. Similarly, for the collection of armies, etc., and the various appearances of the color, signs, and shapes of jewels, etc., the forms, etc., should also be completely distinguished. Moreover, the body's consciousness recognizes the self-characteristic. The mind's consciousness, led by this, recognizes both the self-characteristic and the common characteristic. The sense-sphere of touch has been explained. Now, the non-discriminating is to be spoken of. With the mind and the various different arising from the mind
