They are followers. Because they follow the truths attained through the teachings of others. A follower of the Dharma is one who follows the Dharma, hence a follower of the Dharma, because by the power of their own conditions, they can distinguish all dharmas. Regarding the path of meditation for them, as stated in the scriptures: the abandonment of afflictions to be abandoned by seeing is faith. Abandoning afflictions with wisdom and faith is attainment by seeing. Thus, those individuals included in the path of meditation are mostly stream-enterers and so on. There are five who have not abandoned desire. There are nine who have abandoned desire, that is, those who attain complete nirvana immediately after birth are of three kinds, among whom those with small afflictions and a great path, some attain complete nirvana immediately after birth, and those who attain complete nirvana with effort, diligently abandon afflictions. Those who attain complete nirvana without effort abandon afflictions without needing to strive. Ascending upwards are ascending, half-ascending, and complete separation. Among them, ascending is when one falls from the third dhyana and is born in the first dhyana, and by the power of previous habituation, can induce the dhyanas and is born in Akanistha. Half-ascending is when one is born in the Pure Abodes and abandons other abodes, and is born in Akanistha. Complete separation is of two kinds, going to the peak of existence and going to Akanistha. Among them, those who practice higher vision go to Akanistha and attain complete nirvana. Those who practice tranquility go to the peak of existence and attain complete nirvana. Those who attain complete nirvana in the intermediate state, some at the time of accomplishment, some at the time of manifestation, some at the time of obtaining a place of birth, as stated in the sutras, are explained with three metaphors such as sparks. In the formless realms, apart from those who attain complete nirvana in the intermediate state, there are seven kinds of individuals. In the path of no more learning, from the knowledge of exhaustion to the final moment of attaining complete nirvana. Those with dull faculties are liberated by time, that is, they become arhats depending on place, time, and conditions.

transformation. The opposite of this is liberation without association with time. It transforms into six aspects: one who has the nature of complete decay, one who contemplates death, one who follows and protects the Dharma, one who is unwavering in abiding, one who has the fortune to realize, and one who has the nature of immovability. Among these, one who has the nature of complete decay is one who is disrespectful, impermanent, lacking, and has dull faculties. One who contemplates death is one who is disrespectful. One who follows and protects the Dharma is one who is impermanent. The fourth is one who possesses both (respect and constancy) but has dull faculties. One who has the fortune to realize is one who has sharp faculties and is free from both (respect and constancy). One who has the nature of immovability is one who possesses all. Among these, the liberation of the minds of five types of people is associated with time and desire. The liberation of the mind of the sixth type of person is unwavering. Among these, severing the eighty-eight subtle fetters is to be a stream-enterer. From these fetters, severing the sixth fetter is to be a once-returner. Severing the five fetters associated with the non-excellent aspect is to be a non-returner. What are the fetters associated with the non-excellent aspect? They are desire for desire, malice, view of the aggregates as a real self, adherence to ethics and vows, and doubt. If in order, then previously three fetters are severed, and later two fetters. If one is free from attachment and has previously entered the path of seeing, then previously two fetters are severed, and later three. Among these, the two fetters are like iron chains, because they are non-returning. Excellent means supreme. Non-excellent means non-excellent, which is bad. What is that? It is the desire realm. It itself is a part, because it is counted in the three realms, so it is shown as the sound of a part. Corresponding to this is corresponding to the non-excellent part. How is its non-excellence? Because there is measure in the sutras, that is, evil thoughts are the abode of consciousness, such as in the existence of desire. Why is it counted as one? Because it is the number of severance, just as severing the afflictions of the three realms will become an Arhat. Similar.
