And the knowledge of subsequent realization, the knowledge of suffering, the knowledge of arising, the knowledge of cessation, the knowledge of the path, the knowledge of exhaustion, and the knowledge of non-arising are all without outflows. The minds of others, suffering, arising, and the knowledge of the path are all focused on conditioned phenomena. The knowledge of cessation is focused on the unconditioned, because cessation is unconditioned. The remainder are focused on both. The sphere of activity of the knowledge of suffering and arising is with outflows. The sphere of activity refers to the object of focus. The sphere of activity of the knowledge of cessation and the path is without outflows. The sphere of activity of the remainder is both. The individual distinctions are as they appear in the texts.\\ \\ The Extensive Commentary on Entering the Abhidharma, entitled "A Compilation of Essential Points." Volume Four. There are eight kinds of forbearance. What is the meaning of the word "forbearance"? It is forbearance because it is very tolerant of the four truths. It is because it shows that the distinction of knowledge is without outflows. The word "that" is connected with forbearance. Definite knowledge is eight kinds of knowledge, namely the four knowledges of the Dharma and the four knowledges of subsequent realization. Because it abides as a cause of similar potential, is a place, and is led by the immediately preceding cause, it is its arising, that is, it causes to arise. Those eight aspects are only views, not knowledge. The meaning of definite is the meaning of knowledge. The word "completely" means all, it is a synonym for "seeking completely." Knowledge is indeed definitely abiding. Among them, the function of the forbearance of the knowledge of the Dharma regarding suffering is said to be threefold: in order to cut off the acquisitions of the three realms, it abandons the state of being an ordinary person in the future. It abandons what is wrong, and what is wrong is also of three kinds: wrong going, wrong action, and wrong view. Because there is no going, no doing, and no arising, can't these three worldly forbearances extend far? Even so, because the place is clear, it makes it very far away, therefore it shows that it is abandoned at that time. Thus arising until the knowledge of non-arising, and the cause of similar potential.

And dwell. Cessation is the cessation starting from the attainment of the ten afflictions to be abandoned by seeing suffering. It arises by seeing the aspect of impermanence. Those yogis are of two types: those who practice desire and those who practice views. Those who practice desire are also of two types: those who are oppressed by the pride of "I" and those who are extremely attached to laziness. Those who practice views are also of two types: those who are extremely attached to the belief in self and the belief in what belongs to self. Among them, those who are oppressed by the pride of "I" see the truth of suffering through impermanence itself. Those who are extremely attached to laziness see the truth of suffering through suffering. Those who are extremely attached to the belief in self do so through selflessness. Those who are extremely attached to the belief in what belongs to self do so through emptiness. Bodhisattvas practice desire. Although this is so, it is in emptiness, because their faculties are sharp. Among them, the aspect that arises now is through two types of meditation: the meditation of attainment and the meditation of definite reliance. The four of the future are through the meditation of attainment itself. All aspects are the same share, because the lineages have not been attained. The knowledge of Dharma is also that, which is called the attainment of Nirvana of those to be abandoned by seeing suffering, Nirvana is the nature of separation. Patience here is called the path of no interval, here is connected with the path of seeing, thus the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing are abandoned by patience. The treatise says that there are nine categories of pervasive application, the categories of pervasive application are those to be abandoned by the knowledge of Dharma on suffering and those to be abandoned by the subsequent knowledge on suffering. Similarly, is it not contradictory to the treatise to say that the knowledge of the origin, cessation, and path are two each, and that they are to be abandoned by meditation? There is no fault in this, because patience is the retinue of wisdom, just as when soldiers win, the victory is attributed to the king. The meaning should be understood through an example, just as one person catches a thief and drives him out, similarly, the patience of the knowledge of Dharma on suffering is also the thief of afflictions.
