It is because dullness and sleep make the mind depressed. Excitement and regret make the mind restless. There are four kinds of doubts that arise in the desire realm: suffering, origin, cessation, and path, which are abandoned by seeing the path. The so-called noble path and abode are the eightfold noble path and its abode, such as meditation. The so-called detachment from desire is the abandonment of afflictions, realizing the four truths with aspects such as non-understanding. What are those? They are forbearance. The so-called application is the application to the noble path. What are those? They are virtuous dharmas, such as the heat stage, the peak stage, the forbearance stage, and the supreme worldly dharma. Among them, the root of virtue of the heat stage is to focus on the four truths, with six aspects. Because it is similar to the heat stage, it turns into the heat stage, which is the precursor of the fire of the noble path. Those are the peak stage when they are increasing. Or it is said that the roots of virtue that arise from hearing, thinking, and meditating are obtained from birth.

Those who have passed away like me are in the Black Line Hell. That which is called the Gathering Destroyer is so called because it gathers many sentient beings in houses and other places and destroys them. That which is called the Crying is so called because sentient beings are tormented by the unbearable results of their actions, and, exhausted by suffering, utter cries. The Great Crying is so called because there are so many of them in that place. That which is called Hot is so called because it is surrounded by many flames and the whole body is tormented. The Very Hot is so called because the body is manifestly large and the whole body and mind are tormented by great suffering, and great suffering is experienced. The word 'Very' is used because it is long-lasting and unbearable. In those seven, there is no ripening pleasure, but there is pleasure of similar cause because of the touch of cool winds and so on. Where there is no such time, it is called the Hell Without Intermission because there is no time for pleasure. Or, there is no interruption of suffering there, so it is called the Hell Without Intermission. Without interruption and without opportunity, suffering is experienced there, which is the definition of it. Thus, flames arise from the ten directions there, continuously burning the bodies of sentient beings, and they do not die. The fire of hunger and thirst is also always present. Each of its faces is twenty thousand leagues. It exists below this, and twenty thousand leagues below Jambudvipa touches its upper face. Jambudvipa is wide below and exists like a heap of grain. Therefore, the great ocean gradually slopes. Animals are those that move and go, which is the meaning of going. Among them, the nagas live for an aeon, and some rely on the earth. Pretas are those who are endowed with thirst, they are pretas, some have great power, and some have little power. Jambudvipa is Sokha, and the northern region is large. Each of the three long sides has two thousand leagues, and the short side has four and a half leagues. Therefore, in the Detailed Explanation, if one asks whether one who does not have miraculous powers can travel on one side in one day, one answers with that measure. The Body of the East is like a crescent moon. The Cattle-using of the West is...
