And, equanimity (upeksā, upekṣā, upeksha, indifference) is also a branch of perfect enlightenment, as well as right view, right speech, right action, and right livelihood, which are branches of morality, thus making ten. As it is said, mindfulness and so on are the nature of wisdom, diligence, and samadhi, etc., what is said is because the main point is mentioned. It should be understood that they are. These are, all the qualities arising from practice are also. Because the main point is mentioned, it is said that mindfulness and so on are all the qualities arising from practice. In what situation, which of the factors in harmony with enlightenment is well distinguished? The seven categories are in order. Karma is the first, and the factors in harmony with determination, and are well distinguished in meditation and seeing. In the case of the first karma, it is the mindfulness for the purpose of closely examining the body and so on. Because of obtaining distinction, for the sake of truly increasing diligence, in the warm positions, etc., are those who truly establish well. For the sake of entering the roots of virtue that do not degenerate, in the peak positions, etc., are the miraculous feet. Also, because of obtaining freedom in a way that does not degenerate, in the tolerable ones, etc., are the roots. For the sake of not being overcome by afflictions, in the supreme Dharma, etc., are the powers. For the sake of being close to enlightenment, on the path of meditation are the branches of enlightenment. Because of being well distinguished by going, on the path of seeing are the branches of the path, etc., because it is a fast goer. How many factors in harmony with enlightenment are with outflows? How many are without outflows? This should be said, the branches of enlightenment, the branches of the path, are without outflows. The two are because they are distinguished and established on the path of meditation and seeing. The other two are. The other factors in harmony with enlightenment are with outflows and without outflows, etc. In what place are there many factors in harmony with enlightenment? In the first dhyana there are all. In the invincible, except for joy. The near parts, etc., must be guided by force, and with the needs of the lower ground.

Because there is no joy. In the second dhyana, except for investigation and analysis, there is no correct investigation in the second dhyana, because there is no investigation there. In the second dhyana, except for those two, in the third and fourth dhyanas, joy and investigation do not exist. In the intermediate dhyana, there are only thirty-five kinds other than those two. In the three formless realms, also add the words "that and the limb of discipline, except for", in the three formless realms, correct speech, the limit of action, livelihood, and joy and investigation do not exist. Enlightenment and the limb of the path, except for the peak of existence in the desire realm, in the peak of existence in the desire realm, the limb of enlightenment and the limb of the path do not exist, because there is no uncontaminated path there. If you want to know in what situation a person who abides in the factors of enlightenment can obtain faith, then, if you see the three truths, you can obtain discipline and faith in the Dharma. If you directly realize the path, you can generate faith in the Buddha and his Sangha. If you directly realize the truths of suffering, origin, and cessation, you can obtain faith in the Dharma and the discipline that the noble ones delight in. If you directly realize the truth of the path, you can generate faith in the Buddha and his Shravaka Sangha, and whoever generates faith in these two is generating faith in the non-learning Dharma that makes one a Buddha, and the learning and non-learning Dharmas that make one a Sangha. Also, the word "also" indicates that one can also obtain discipline and faith in the Dharma. Here, what do you consider to be the Dharma? The Dharma is the three truths and the solitary Buddha, and the path of the Bodhisattva. These are the distinctions of the basis of faith, and from the perspective of names, they are called the four kinds of knowing faith. In terms of substance, there are two, namely faith, discipline, the knowing faith in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, these are all the nature of faith. The discipline that the noble ones delight in is only discipline. Knowing faith in general is immaculate. It is a synonym for uncontaminated. The Sutra says: Those who are learning have eight limbs of the path, and those who are not learning have ten limbs. Why do those who are learning not have correct liberation?
