The first practice is with joy and gathering. One who wishes to meditate on the impure should first focus the mind on one's own limbs, imagining the limbs decaying and oozing pus. Then, gradually contemplate the bones, and finally visualize everything as white bones. Similarly, visualize in the same way for the second time, gradually from temples, gardens, villages, and fields, until the edge of the ocean, visualizing the entire earth filled with white bones. To further increase the visualization, gather again, and in order to gather the mind, gather until visualizing only a single skeleton. This much is enough, and for a beginner, the practice of yoga is complete. From the skeleton to half a skull, it is said that purification is done through abandonment. This is also to make the gathering of the mind more special, starting from the skeleton, abandoning the bones of the feet, and focusing only on the remaining parts. Similarly, gradually abandoning until only half a skull remains, focusing only on the remaining part, this is complete purification. Holding the mind between the eyebrows, the contemplation is complete. Holding the mind from half a skull to between the eyebrows, this is the completion of contemplation. Furthermore, what is the nature of this impurity? What is the ground? What is the object? Where does it arise? In order, the impure is non-attachment, the ground is the ten grounds, including the near-absorption of the four dhyanas and the four dhyanas themselves, as well as the desire realm. The object is the colors and shapes seen in the desire realm. It arises only from humans, not from others. The aspect called "impure contemplation" is merely a name. The nature of the impure, along with its detailed classification, has been explained. The mindfulness of breathing in and breathing out is the realm of the five wisdoms, it is wind. The support of the desire realm is breathing in, which is the entering of breath. Breathing out is the exhaling of breath. Remembering these two is remembering breathing in and breathing out, and this is the nature of wisdom. The reason for saying mindfulness is that it enters by increasing its power.

Therefore. The five grounds are the three proximities, the special samadhi, and in the desire realm, because of equanimity and sameness. Its object is wind. It is the support of the desire realm, arising in observation and non-observation. This dharma is only for them, not for mice. Because it is without defilement, and because self-nature cannot directly realize the female dharma. That is also, counting and so on are six aspects. This mindfulness of inhaling and exhaling. Counting and following, abiding, perception and transformation, pure thought are considered six aspects. Among them, counting is when the mind is focused on inhaling and exhaling, without any manifest intention, only with body and mind, counting from one and two, two to ten. Fearing that the mind will be manifestly grasped and distracted, it is neither too much nor too little. If the mind is distracted in the middle, it should be counted from the beginning until samadhi is not attained. Following is following the course of exhalation, asking where these arise or enter. Abiding is like a string of jewels, observing from the tip of the nose to the ankle. Perception is perceiving whether these are beneficial or harmful. Near perception is perceiving that these are not only wind, but also great elements and so on, and form that is manifestly established as the cause from the elements, and the mind and mental factors that depend on them, in the five aggregates. Transformation is transforming the mind that is focused on external objects, and from higher to higher, one should also practice properly on the roots of virtue and so on, between the excellent dharmas. Purification is entering the path of seeing and so on. Among them, from what body does inhalation and exhalation come, and what part of the body is it? It should be known that it is its part. Sentient being means not being grasped. Because it is different from the senses. It arises from the co-emergent cause, because the body grows and decays, and because it is cut off and then reborn, it arises from growth, and it arises from maturation.
