That is conventional truth, like a vase. If, when other phenomena are eliminated by wisdom, that wisdom does not enter into it, that is also conventional truth, like water. Other than that is ultimate truth, in which, even if it is destroyed or other phenomena are eliminated by wisdom, wisdom itself enters, like form. For form, even if it is destroyed into the smallest particles, or even if phenomena such as taste are eliminated by wisdom, the wisdom of the nature of form itself enters. Having explained the truths, how can they be seen? It should be explained starting from the first entry. One who has proper conduct, hearing, and thought should diligently engage in meditation. One who desires not to abandon the truths should first of all keep the precepts. After that, one should hear and hold the Dharma that is in accordance with seeing the truth, or listen to its meaning. Having heard, one should think without reversing what is heard. Having thought, one should diligently engage in the practice of samadhi. Those too, the minds arising from hearing and so forth, have names and both meanings as their objects. The wisdom arising from hearing is focused on names, and that arising from thinking is focused on both names and meanings, sometimes letters lead to meaning, sometimes meaning leads to letters. The wisdom arising from meditation is focused only on meaning, it does not rely on letters but enters into meaning. So, how does that diligent effort in meditation lead to the perfection of meditation? Possessing two abandonments. If one abandons the body and mind in order to abandon busyness and non-virtuous thoughts, then it will be perfected. Then, for whom is abandonment easy? It is easy for those who have few desires and are content. It is not for those who are not content and have great desires. What is discontent? What is great desire? Greed for what is obtained is discontent, desire for what is not obtained is great desire. Repeatedly desiring to obtain robes and other things is discontent, desiring those that have not been obtained is great desire. The antidotes to that are contentment and few desires. Those two are stainless, included in the three realms. Combine it with "antidote," discontent and

The greedy person acts only in desire, what is the nature of the less greedy and the contented? It is called non-attachment, these are the nature of non-attachment. Noble lineage, connected with non-attachment, from which arise the excellent ones, hence the four noble lineages. Among them, three are the nature of contentment. The first three are content with Dharma robes, alms, and bedding. The fourth noble lineage is the joy of renunciation and meditation. What did the Bhagavan reveal with the four noble lineages? The first three reveal the code of conduct, and the last one completely abandons one's own code of conduct and the end of karma, these two coexist. The three are the code of conduct, and the fourth is karma. The reason for coexistence is to counteract the arising of craving. There are four kinds of arising craving, namely the three of Dharma robes etc., and the fourth of non-craving. To counteract these, the four noble lineages are revealed, because of attachment and desire for one's own things, for that time and forever. The objects of attachment are Dharma robes etc. The object of attachment is the body. The desire for these is craving. Among them, the desire that arises for the objects of attachment, the three that pacify at that time. The desire that arises for both, the fourth that pacifies forever. Thus, how does one enter meditation after becoming a vessel? Entering meditation is the contemplation of impurity and the mindfulness of breathing in and out. Those who are close to desire and extremely practice discrimination. If someone is close to desire and extremely practices, they enter through the contemplation of impurity. If someone practices discrimination, they enter through the mindfulness of breathing in and out. Among them, there are four kinds of desire, namely the desire for color, the desire for shape, the desire for touch, and the desire for reverence. The praise without distinction for these is: For all bones and attachments, on the bones of the skeleton, all four forms of attachment are absent. That is also the practitioner of the yoga of contemplating impurity, which can be divided into three types: beginner, fully purified, and perfect attention. Among them, up to the sea of bones.
