One is solely practiced in the desire realm. Afflictions and near afflictions have already been explained. Among them, sleep and pride, which are to be abandoned by seeing, are the objects of consciousness. All that is to be abandoned by seeing are the objects of consciousness, and so are sleep and pride, which are to be abandoned by cultivation. The autonomy of near afflictions is also to be observed: those near afflictions that have autonomy are solely the objects of consciousness. Others are based on the six consciousnesses. Other afflictions and near afflictions are the objects of the six consciousnesses. Furthermore, those that are associated with feelings such as pleasure are to be discussed. Desire is associated with pleasure and joy. Hatred is the opposite. Hatred is associated with suffering and displeasure. All ignorance is associated with all five faculties. Wrong view is associated with joy and suffering. They are associated in order with those who have virtuous and sinful actions. Displeasure and doubt are also like that. Others, the four views and pride are associated with joy. These, after showing that they arise from the desire realm, others will be discussed. Equanimity and all, afflictions, when they are interrupted, they must abide in equanimity. Furthermore, what are the higher realms like? It is said that the higher realms, like their respective realms, the subtle aspects of the higher realms, in whatever realm there are as many faculties as there are, are associated with their respective faculties. Regret, jealousy, anger, malice, resentment, and rage are associated with displeasure. Because it is entering a state of sadness and is an object of consciousness. Stinginess is the opposite. It means it is associated with joy. Deceit, pretense, concealment, and sleep are associated with both. They are associated with joy and displeasure. Pleasure and arrogance, in the third dhyana, are associated with pleasure. Below the third dhyana, it is joy.
