It is appropriate and can be indicated because it is here, in such and such a place, it can be examined. Because of the individual meaning, only one is said to be the birthplace of Dharma, but not all. Furthermore, many Dharmas such as feelings are gathered here, therefore, the sound of Dharma is universally spoken. The supreme Nirvana of Dharma is also gathered here, but not in other places. In the sutras, if other Dharmas that should be understood, such as aggregates, places, and realms, are also observed, then, are those gathered by these, or are they said to be different? They are gathered by these, there is no difference, to this, briefly speaking, eighty-four thousand Dharma aggregates, which are spoken by the capable one, those, if they are words or names, are all contained in form and formation. According to which the Buddha's teachings are the nature of words, according to those, those are gathered by the aggregate of form. According to which are the nature of names, according to those, they are gathered by the aggregate of formation. Also, how much is the amount of Dharma aggregates? Some say it is the amount of treatises. Some say that it is the amount of Abhidharma called Dharma aggregates, which is six thousand verses. Still others say that each of the aggregates is a talk, that is, each talk of aggregates, places, realms, dependent origination, etc. is a Dharma aggregate. To counteract the behaviors, the Dharma aggregates are said to be corresponding. It is said that the behaviors of sentient beings have eighty-four thousand different behaviors such as desire, hatred, ignorance, arrogance, etc., and to counteract those, eighty-four thousand Dharma aggregates are spoken. Thus, the eighty-four thousand Dharma aggregates are gathered in these aggregates, and similarly, others should also appropriately, aggregates, places, realms, etc., their respective nature should be well analyzed, and gathered as said. In other sutras, the other aggregates, places, realms, etc. that are spoken, those should also be analyzed well as said in this treatise, and gathered into these aggregates, etc.

These words should be summarized. Among the aggregates of discipline, concentration, wisdom, liberation, and the knowledge and vision of liberation, the aggregate of discipline is included in the aggregate of form. The rest are included in the aggregate of formations. Among the ten pervasive spheres, eight are included in the sphere of phenomena because of their uncontaminated nature. If they are accompanied by retinues, they are included in the spheres of mind and phenomena because they are of the nature of the five aggregates. The overcoming spheres are similar to this. The sphere of infinite space, the sphere of infinite consciousness, and the four beginning with the sphere of infinite space are included in the spheres of mind and phenomena because they are of the nature of the four aggregates. The five liberating spheres are included in the sphere of phenomena because they are of the nature of wisdom. If they are accompanied by retinues, they are included in the spheres of sound, mind, and phenomena. Among the two spheres, the unconscious beings are included in the ten spheres because they lack the spheres of smell and taste. Approaching the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception is included in the spheres of mind and phenomena. In the manifold realms, if the six realms of earth, water, fire, wind, space, and consciousness are taught, and the nature of two of them is not explained, then should it be understood that emptiness itself is the realm of space, and all consciousness is the realm of consciousness? The answer is no. Then what is it? Openings such as doors, windows, mouths, and noses are called the realm of space. What should be understood as an opening? It is light and darkness. An opening cannot be grasped apart from light and darkness. Therefore, the realm of space is the nature of light and darkness, and it should be known as the nature of night and day, so it is said. Consciousness with outflows is the realm of consciousness. Why is consciousness without outflows not? Because these six realms are the birth

It is considered to be the basis of becoming. Those are the basis of arising from the mind of connection to the mind of death. The uncontaminated dharmas are not like that. Therefore, in that case, four of those realms are included in the realm of touch. The fifth is included in the realm of form. The sixth is included in the seven realms of consciousness. Which of the eighteen realms that are taught are indicable, and which are not indicable? The indicable here is only form. That is this, is here, it can be indicated as so-and-so. The rest are said to be unindicable. Which are obstructive and which are unobstructed? The obstructive are the ten that have form. The ten realms included in the aggregate of form, those ten that are said to be obstructive because they obstruct obscuration. The eight that are uncharacterized are those themselves. The five faculties other than form and sound, and the realms of smell, taste, and touch, these eight are uncharacterized because they are not of the nature of good and non-good. The other three. The seven realms of mind that are associated with non-attachment and so on are good. Those that are associated with attachment and so on are non-good. The others are uncharacterized. The dharma realm is good when it is associated with the nature of non-attachment and so on, and when it is aroused, and when it is ceased by individual examination. Arousal associated with the nature of attachment and so on is non-good. The rest are uncharacterized. The realms of form and sound, the good and non-good that are included in the manifestations of body and speech, and those that are aroused by the uncharacterized mind, are good, non-good, and uncharacterized. Which belong to the desire realm? All that belong to the desire realm. Belonging means not being separated. In the form realm there are fourteen. Except for the realms of smell and taste and nose and tongue consciousness. There is no smell and taste there, because the two are the food of the realm, and there is desire for it.
